I 😍😍😍 these beautiful, sweet, heroic dogs! I read about a Newfie who rescued a girl who was stuck in a snowdrift. The dog was given a steak for dinner, and won the Ken-L-Ration Dog Hero of the year. I wish I could have one.

When it comes to unconditional love, Newfies are at the top of the list. My boy Max wasn't just my dog, he was the whole neighborhood's dog. All you had to do was scratch his big ol' head and he was your friend forever. He never met a kid he didn't love. He passed a number of years ago and watching this video brought back so many great memories. Thanks Vanessa and Pongo 😊

The 1st time I saw a Newfoundland was at a great aunt's house when I was young. She asked me to get someone off her back porch. When I went out it stood up from laying on the porch and I ran back in terrified and told her there was a bear on her porch. She laughed and told me it was her dog and wouldn't hurt me. She introduced me to him and he was the sweetest, gentlest boy. 🥰

I have a 14 month old Landseer Newfie. Ichinojo spends most of his time outdoors, but nonetheless my floors are perpetually covered in black and white hair 😆 I've always towel dried him and hand brushed him, but after seeing this video I'm going to get an air dryer like you've got - it'll do both the drying and a lot of the brushing!

He is beautiful!! He especially loved when you massaged the suds into his forehead. :D Reminds me of our Pearl and Sloopy, also Landseers. We have always had rescue Newfies, for the past 20+ years. Our family describes the amount we brush out of our Newfie's coat in terms of how many Pomeranians could be made with it! For example, a 2 hour brushing during coat-blowing season can be an 8-Pomeranian session. LOL Such a beautiful and loving dog. The drool on the ceiling and fur in every part of your house are just bonuses

I'd love to have one, but with summers getting hotter and hotter, how would it cope?

Is there a dog that you find is better for people with allergies? I can’t have retrievers because their coat has the oils that cause allergies(I take daily pills) but I can own an Australian Kelpi or a Border Collie. Well they flare the allergies to a 2 out of 4 but I’d love a dog that I wasn’t allergic to.

My best friend in California had a Newfie named Shumani. Shui and John would visit my apartment whereupon Shui would jump on my bed, bark once as if to say "I''m here"!! Greatest dog I've ever known. I can see why you love Pongo. He's beautiful!!

I had two, one was a german shepherd x newfy, the other full blood, the best dogs, very intelligent, very good with their family especially with children, playful, sometimes naughty, but in a nice way, they think for themselves, protect the family like no other, very loving and love to be with people and know the difference between good and bad ones and they will not tollerate bad ones. Their coates are a LOT of work, but they have patience. Miss my best friends still.

I used to work in Midtown Manhattan. There was a fire station nearby. Periodically, a giant black Newfie would be sitting on the sidewalk in front of the fire house watching the very busy street with buses, taxis, cars, and too many people to count go by. He couldn’t have been more relaxed. I think his firefighter owner brought him to work for a bath. He always made my day.

I had a Newfoundland years ago. She was adorable, loving and sweet. She loved to climb up on the bed when we were asleep. Sadly, she died aged 5.

I had a Newfie, and he wanted only one thing in life: To be with me.

She does those paw pads always so good!

If I remember, the Newfie actually does the breast stroke rather than the doggie paddle.

I love, love, love these dogs. They are my “heart” dogs and I’ve been blessed to share my life with seven of them over a period of 30 years. Hoping for one last Newfie puppy, number 8, next spring. My husband is in Heaven with six of our Newfs. Number 7, Davey, is here with me and I’m so thankful. Pongo is beautiful, but aren’t they all… ❤ 🐾

The Landseer is my dream dog and was the dog Nana in Peter Pan.

Newfies were ever present in my home growing up, never less that two at a time and sometimes more. I especially remember a big male called Blue who seemed to take delight in walking around with a softball completely hidden in his mouth until he would suddenly drop the thoroughly soaked and slimy "present" in someone's lap.

Pleeease show us more grinch feet before you trim them 😂

They're great unless you want to go in the water at a beach....lol...they will continually " rescue " you! Until you give up! It's their job!

He is absolutely adorable I've never seen one this color before

I've noticed that Girl with the Dogs only rarely cuts dogs' coats. I wonder why that is. When we had dogs growing up, they always came back from the groomer with much shorter coats.

I had a Newfie, solid black bear dog, for 10 years. I loved that dog. He could almost talk to us, and protected us and the house always. He could swim circles around us at the lake.

Our Roo is terrified of the blower. We're going to try your idea of wrapping a scarf around her head so we can blow her out. Thanks.

How long did that whole grooming process take?

we had a Great Dane, he came to the living room when the whole family was watching TV, sat down and quietly sat next to us, looking at the TV, he considered this silent sitting part of the general leisure
