Michael Jackson didn’t invest the moonwalk it was known in the street dance as backslide let’s be honest he is a good dancer but he had to be honest and acknowledging these guys like turbo from the movie brakin and his teacher Jeffry Daniel from soul train he was cool as Michael boogaloo shrimp from the movie brakin and I love Michael talent by the way but and respect to his pass and rest in peace michael .

I am James F Jr... First of all... It was not called the Moonwalk. Second, stop trying to take credit away from Bill Bailey . Everytime a Black person initiates something everyone else wants to claim it. If this Mexican was the First why haven't we ever heard of him? The Proof Is in the Pudding. I am certain dancers fat before either of them might have created this iconic movie. Michael just did the move. The Media claimed he created this dance move. Taught to him by Jeffery Daniels of Shalamar. If you all want to know the Truth, Break Dancing was performed by The likes of Sammy Davis Jr. But, it was not called Break Dancing. The movies were copied by all tap, and other Dancers throughout the ages.

The Moonwalk(under many different names) goes way back to the 1870's as per the Wikipedia page about it. In a November 1969 episode of H.R. Pufnstuf, Judy the Frog teaches everyone a new dance called "The Moonwalk", which includes two instances of a stationary moonwalk. And that was the first instance of it being called the Moonwalk. Hence right after the astronauts landed on the moon in July of 1969.

I think I saw Curly Howard, one of the Three Stooges, do a moonwalk step. He also got down in the floor and thrilled around like breakdancing? Another favorite dance move of his was to put his hands on his hips and thrust out his pelvis.
