FIRST!
XD
Hope you get more subs in the future. Keep it up man :)
This showed a new perspective on the game I had not seen in other reviews. I can dig it.
ОтветитьMe Pre GC video: "A Hat in Time is a fun game with great humor."
Me Post GC Video: "A HAT IN TIME IS A COMMENTARY OF THE HUMAN SOUL!"
Damn GC. That epilogue was too real. No wonder you always say stay positive. I can live with that mantra.
ОтветитьI think a big reason why there's so many heckin' yarn balls is both a byproduct of allowing you to explore the bigger areas in the game, like Subcon and Alpine, while still feeling rewarded, on top of being an incentive for completionists. That, and the spares can be used for the modded hats you can use on steam! Fun fact, one of the official dev mods for hat in time? It's a dab mod. You can dab in hat in time.
With Hat Kid's top hat, it makes her look rather... dabber? Eh? No? Aight.
For real though, it genuinely amazes me how you cue into these neat little touches in every game you cover. I look forward to the next one!
Interesting use of the word "toxic," which seems to be a word tossed around quite a bit these days. I'd personally use "misguided" for someone that lacks knowledge/direction in regards to what should be had, but isn't, and tend not to realize it until it's too late, if that makes any sense.
ОтветитьThis was great! And I liked the DQIX in the background of the set :)
ОтветитьAnother fucking great video my dude, that epilogue was so damn good... Even the Hit goof ;)
ОтветитьI find that this game is great only in the bonus ice worlds. The platforming is tight in traditional level based platforming, but world traversal and exploration suffer from the poor combat and annoying jank.
That being said I completed it so the happiness in the game must have overcome my lack of happiness with the game
[I had a really bad day and I thought I would pour it all out here, because this video made me feel so much better after all the "toxicity" I went through today.]
I'm still having a hard time understanding what toxic really mean, because I'm afraid (rather scared) that I could be one of them. (please don't leave me behind, hear me out)
Many people in the Internet community have varying degrees of toxicity, and they have a persona.
* One of them is what you would call an "ironic" poster . You know, those who do stuff "ironically", hahaha lol so random. The kind of toxicity they spread is of resistance, to anything established. They make fun of things, and often times it's hard when they are being "ironic" and when they are being serious. (and I get a bit frustrated when I'm not able to read a person)
* Another one of them are the complainers, the ranters, the ragers . I never, ever liked them. I've always found ranting as a waste of energy and time. And yet many seem to hold them in high regard. In fact, the crude media, the thrash album, thrash comedy, I never understood their appeal.
For example, YTer Digibro made a video citing YTers like Endless Jess and Rageaholic. (Now you could classify Digibro as toxic because how egotistical he can get, but he has such an infectious personality and makes some great analysis that I can't help but watch).
I watched both of them, and while Rageaholic makes from decent stuff and speaks immaculately, , both are extremely ranty channels that I can not imagine anyone putting among the best YTers like Super Bunnyhop.
That is also why I never understood AVGN. All he ever do as act angry and say "crap" after every 2 minutes.
* The cynical, elite, nihilistic ones . Those who deride on "normies", and insult those who are anywhere below their level of intelligence or taste. Those people are are rare, but the traits they have prop up in people sometime.
* Politically Incorrect . I do not know the politics of my own country. I've never been into it, always thought it was a waste of time from other productive things. So when I see people on twitter getting angery and fighting over politics. identity politics and such, it seems always as toxic. And I don't eve know what exactly their are getting mad at, because it's layered with satire, that apart from those who know what's going on, could potentially misinform.
On Twitter, I've followed people from both sides (I believe), and you see people from all spectrum shouting and arguing over each other. Like bring an issue of women, or the other sex, and you'll see so much mud flinging going on.
* Forum culture . My most common forum interaction has been reddit and 4chan. And my god, have they indirectly affected! Both /r/Games and /v/ are some of the most fantastic places for getting amazing info about video games, and also some of the most cynical jaded a-holes you can ever talk to.
Basically, if you don't conform to how they think, you are not human in their eyes. Like they can not think that there are people who can genuinely enjoy Gone Home.
After that Digibro video, I went on a spree of people who you can label toxic, but have a loud "voice". Then I went to /v/, then twitter, then even more cynical YT. That was until I encountered your video and I was feeling like my brain was melting away...
You know what? Maybe I should stop using Internet for a while.
Whoa, GC.
I have to give props just for the mid-vid theme of toxic individuals followed immediately by an awesome boss montage (I had no idea the bosses were so interesting in this and I've heard more than a bit about it!).
The message you've found inside is intense and thank you for sharing it.
Another wonderful video, GC, and a message that hits close to home for a lot of us. I'm excited for my time with A Hat in Time as well, and glad to see this video man :)
Have a great one!
