Thanks for uploading these. What was probably just a slow Friday morning has now become cultural history.
ОтветитьThis is awesome thank you! Listening from Australia 😉
ОтветитьIt's a New York Thing Baby!!!
ОтветитьThis upload encapsulates my time growing up in the Bronx ...It touched me with a ghostly haunt when I heard it....'80s GOOD TIMES!!!....GREAT MUSIC!!!....Much THANKS for uploading.
ОтветитьThat date is wrong..sounds like summer of 1987
ОтветитьGeez I found this by sheer accident. I miss the old 80’s music and Z100 jingle I remember Mr Leonard 😮😮. I’d listen to this all day at work in Rockland County. Thx 🙏
ОтветитьNot allowed to favorite or save this to my playist? :(
ОтветитьReally cool to hear this stuff, was a kid in the NYC burbs at this time. Thanks!
ОтветитьThe processing defines the word aggressive!
There's no such thing as over modulated!
I know the latest digital Omnias etc are loud, clean, and give nice stereo expansion without losing your bass
... they are amazing when adjusted right, but this 80s sound will always be superior to these ears.
Grazie
ОтветитьI was 18 when this was going on. It's just like being there again. Thanks for this memory trip.
ОтветитьIts something about Fm radio that has that Hi fidelity quality sound especially while riding in the car.🎶😎
ОтветитьI wasn’t even born yet. Until 1990 lol. But I know half of these songs. Radio back in the days had such a sound to it when the songs just came on. So nostalgic.
ОтветитьThe amazing thing is every song is great and it really is like traveling back on time.
Ответить👍 Nice. Love the backdrop. I will listen to this driving to work thinking its 1988 although 1984 was my favorite year.
ОтветитьIt took me right back to being 13 again. Holy shit Your videos are nostalgic and amazing. Thank you for putting these up. I don't know if I'm the only one but there are times when I'll play one of your videos and it's just song after song of memories and I literally could cry, and here I am a 48-year-old man lol, that's how good times were in the '80s
ОтветитьThis sounds great. 3/18/88 was my 10th birthday! Thanks so much for the post.
ОтветитьThis is pure gold! I miss that America. 😭
ОтветитьWow it's a trip hearing about Tina Turner concert tickets. RIP Queen of Rock n Roll.
ОтветитьListening on the way to the city of Angra dos Reis - Rio de Janeiro - Brazil. On one side the sea of the Brazilian coast. and on the other the green mountains of the Atlantic forest.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing... cheers from spain 🙂
ОтветитьThis sounds to be more like summer of 1987. No way Scott Shannon was still playing "I'd Still Say Yes" and "Cross My Broken Heart" in March of 1988. Plus- no "hits" later than August 1987 on this aircheck. I know Z was super conservative/researched back then- but not one "current" in 45 minutes? Plus, she mentions "today's a good beach day" and the commercial for "nectarine season".
ОтветитьOmg, I use to listen to Z100 back in the day. Grew up on Long Island.
ОтветитьThis is from either August 13 or 14 of 1987. The music indicates that, but the giveaway is Susan Leigh Taylor's reference to the Tina Turner concert at Jones Beach.
ОтветитьI'm going through my midlife crisis in this shitty 2022 so this hits the spot.
ОтветитьThank you so much for what you are doing. Used to listen to this station every summer when I was in New York in my grandmother's attic. Blessings from the Bahamas.
ОтветитьInteresting. Big songs played in a row on Z100 (like always back then). Tempo and presentation of the station seemed very slow for a NYC top 40 station.
ОтветитьGreat recording! However given a majority of the songs on this being from late Summer ‘87 I think this might be from around then.
ОтветитьAny idea how this was recorded? It sounds pristine.
ОтветитьThis was my station too ..GOOD up load Bro ..BROOOKLYN !
ОтветитьThis recording sounds amazing!
ОтветитьDude, what happened to the Kiss/Chuck Chill u promised for today?
Ответить
