Hey Ash! Great video, and the channel too, I've discovered it just recently, and there is some really great advice. I switched to DE shaving about 5 months ago, and I really enjoy it. It's not a chore anymore, but a great way to start a day and de-stress. Carry on with the good work 🙂

Perfect shave is an oxymoron. The only times that any parts of me have been shaved in the last 50+ years were in hospital.

I allways carry a razor in my rucksack when spending days or weeks in the wilderness, it helps me feeling hygenic and to maintain mental discipline and high moral. Never skept a morning shave for the last 3 years, doesn't matter the circumstances 😆.

I love my Merkur future razor, with prorazo cream, feather blade and badger brush. Just can't understand why guys spend silly amounts on the multi blade brands and nasty chemical shave gels? I can buy 100 feather blades for £18 (might be a bit more now) it's a no brainer.

Hey Ash! Greetings from Atlanta! I ordered all the elements used in your video via Amazon. The Merkur razor and the Proraso pre-shave arrived today and I had my initial shave. Wow, what a difference! My father taught me to shave 45+ years ago using a safety razor, but most of the time since, I’ve been using some brand of disposable, multi-blade razor. Those days are over! Thank you for making “old school” new again! Warm rgds, Geoff

I'm not sure a DE blade shave is better than say a mach3 but it's cheaper per blade and more relaxing so in effect its like a mindfulness class first thing in the am. Also, if you're shaving everyday with a DE you're going to have a fairly raw face come Friday

It's a Merkur 38c Barber Pole razor paired with a Feather blade. In my view a 6.5 out of 10 aggression razor, but paired with a super aggressive Feather. For me it's the perfect marriage for day to day shaving. But for heavy growth the terrifying Muhle R41 with an Astra blade. Either way Proraso pre shave is an absolute must. Anything Proraso is out of this world to shave with. Another great video Sir!

REUZEL is indeed the Dutch word for Lard but is a wink to Pomade ingredients from the past. Almost all our products are vegan, the rest is vegetarian because they contain beeswax or lanolin. Nice you've chosen our Shave Cream in your routine. 💪🤠

I'll slightly surprised that your perfect shave doesn't include a decent brush. I cannot have a good (let alone great) shave without one, regardless of the type of cream used. Great if it works for you though!

Loving the choice of Feather + a mild razor though - that's my go to.

Say, since deciding to pick up a kit with some of these products -- reading some online reviews, I came upon many who use Proraso Pre-Shave Cream as pre and post. Have you considered this instead of the Citrus Kiss ? Seems also to have moisturizing qualities, thoughts?

Great content as always, I did a small fist pump at the mention of proraso pre shave as I use it too ( also as an aftershave balm works well too) as a sucker for all the products, I have the shaving cream, aftershave splash and balm all from the proraso green line, they are all excellent, but it will be searching out the reuzel products to give them a try. Can't match your Frankenstein razor combo but certainly will be adding witch hazel and citrus kiss to try list, always a pleasure to watch, what would we do without you!

Great shave Ash, You mention Reuzel produce, You should try there aftershave, It holds lots of moisturizing elements such as Witch Hazel, Nettle Leaf, Rosemary & Horsetail Root. Fantastic on the skin, Its almost like a aftershave and balm combined, Lovely citrus fresh aroma to. Not that expensive around £9.00 100ml. Good luck and happy shaving.

The problem with safety razor shaving there is a learning curve and you to experiment with razor and blade combinations to get the best shave for your face. But once you get it worked out it's dead simple. The only thing I would like to try is a double safety razor with a bar on one side and comb on the other. This gives a side to use for the first past and the other for the second and third pass. Unfortunately I saw it a month ago and haven't been able to find it again,

I’m originally from Connecticut, the “witch hazel capitol of the world.” The indigenous Native Americans discovered its medicinal properties centuries ago. My dad always splashed on some witch hazel after shaving and I do too. It’s a lovely mild astringent and skin toner.

Nothing like a good shave. And I know we all have preferences for the preparation, but I can't see really enjoying the shave without working a badger hair brush into the small bowl holding a round bar of high quality shaving soap. In addition to that that, I prefer to soften my beard by either showering first, or using hot-wet towels for a few minutes.
