Recovering from cults and abusive relationships can be tricky to navigate but is such an important thing to learn about in order to move forward after leaving.

In this video, I discuss what has helped me to start to heal as well as some resources you can look into for your own recovery.

According to Dr.Ellie Jenkinson, the cult identity or pseudo-personality needs to be deconstructed (and separated from your authentic self) before any traditional therapy is done.

Free or low-cost ways to recover:

Educate yourself
Regulate the nervous system
Basic good health (eat, move, sleep, breath, hydrate)

Also, consider finding a trauma-informed therapist (if not one experienced with cult survivors or abusive relationships).
