How to Create Searchable Drop Down Lists in Excel with ZERO Effort!

Hi Leila! I wanted to say this is finally available today for 365 users today! So excited! Have been waiting for a year for this to transition out of beta and it's finally here! :D

How do i get this new feauture in my current excel version?

I tried the same in O365 on Mac, but It didn't work. Is this feature available only on windows?

Hi Leila, I'm using table and name references from the name manager- when I used the data validation list, my drop down still has blank cells? is there an option to sort? Thank you!

hi i don't have excel 365, still using the standard office excel, which this function is not availble, can you show how to do searchable dropdown using the old version of excel please? thanks ;)

Doesn't work

Not working for me. My drop-down list is visable. However, I'm not able search by typing in the cell.

Wonderful new. Thanks so much for your video. However, when I set up the data validation feature in the spreadsheet, after saving and ending it, when the file is reopened, this feature no longer works. I would have to set up the data validation step as instructed in your video to get it to work again. Is there a way to permanently set it up so that each time the file is open, the feature works? Maybe, there is an option to keep the validation option in the spreadsheet without losing it every time the spreadsheet is saved and ends.

Hi, this function was working some months ago, but then it suddenly dissapeared. However, TODAY it works again. Any ideas?

This feature was released on january 14 2022. Unfortunatly I can't still use it yet. I'm working with semi-anual preview enterprise version 2302. How long do we have to wait to see this feature in the current channels? Thanks for an update.

Hello! Searchable drop-down was working previously in deskop excel but it is not working now. But it is still searchable in web version office 365 of same excel file. Please help me to identify the problem and to solve the issue.

I have the latest version but the searchable list is not working

I had this a couple of days ago and now it went back to the normal drop down list. Very frustrating. I love that I could type in a letter and it would show all options. What happened??

Ok I use 0365 standard license and this was working a few weeks ago, but in a file we developed with multiple contributors (and no macros), it worked for a few days, but then stopped inexplicably for the desktop version. Is anybody else having this problem?

Can you make a drop down list that works so that if you select Sheet 2 you get Sheet 2, so if I have a lot of sheets I can select a sheet in a drop down list or if there is another better way it would be cool to see it?

How to remove duplicates

This feature was working well for me a few days ago. But now, suddenly it does not work. The validation source or my excel table has not changed. Even, I have created a new excel workbook and tried the feature on that sheet with creating a new table and a new validation source but the feature does not work on that sheet either. Can you please help me with that? Thanks.

Really frustrating this was taken away. Not sure why, was loving it and made lists so much easier to use....maybe they will come back in next update?

This feature WAS working and for some reason they removed it. I wonder why? I've been using it for a while, and it randomly disappeared in excel with no explanation.

I am running the most up-to-date version but it appears this has not been implemented for users that aren't in the beta channel more than a year later. Unless mine is glitched or something?
