I'm like everyone else on this. Every once in a while this pops up in my feed and I'll watch it again. This is just the original cut for me. Given the tech at the time, I'm sure George would have rather had this as the original.ales it so much powerful since the next 2 duels of the original trilogy were between father and son.

If Star Wars was so fucking great to get generations obsessed with every fucking frame of film and utterance of dialog then why the fuck do thousands of so-called fans generate reimagined content to totally obliterate everything that was great about it (and it was and is great—the originals) leaving only poorly CG'd skinsuits to dance around like puppets? Fuck.

They should add this sequence to the original movie. They changed the Emperor's face...why not do the same to the light sabre battle?

Even with all his power and strengh, Vader never defeated his former Master, he only wins cause Obi Wan gave up.

This is excellent. The only thing I'd change is the way Kenobi keeps calling Vader 'Darth' – that hasn't made any sense since Empire.

The thing that this gets right that the majority of duels get wrong is that it feels like they're both trying to hit each other, rather than aiming for the other guy's blade.

Has anyone showed this to George Lucas yet? If so, what did he say?

Would’ve been cool to have one of the storm troopers shoot at Obi Wan while he was on the ground and Vader stops the laser and diverts it somewhere. He has to be the one to kill Obi Wan.

It's took me a long time to see how the fight was done so perfectly. In the fight most of the time Obi-Wan uses both hand to hold the light saber, it makes us feel that he is old and while he still has his skills, his age has wear him down. On the other hand is enraged Darth Vader who deliver heavy strikes with only one arm, and he also uses the force more than Obi-Wan does.

Better than the original

The fight choreography is almost as bad as the sequels, I give you that.

I know ya'll aren't going to like me saying this, but this is just too much.

Obi-Wan and Vader's duel on the Death Star wasn't them wholeheartedly trying to kill each other. It was almost like a game of chess. They were testing each other, probing the other's defenses and smack talking in between short bouts. Obi-Wan was partially wasting time by keeping Vader's mind focused on the trash talk more than anything, until he saw that the others had escaped.
