Willys L Head Engine....Machining Block and Cylinder Head

I watched your most recent episode about Gary's engine. It seemed you had to remove a lot of metal from both the head and the deck. Is that going to cause higher compression and be a problem? If so, is there a way of compensating for that? Maybe using a thicker gasket or .....?

The Nickle standing on the block said alot about your fixturing, wow, .020 is alot!!! Unbelievable how bad this motor was...I'm really curious on how you repair those cracks...be safe!!! God Bless!!!

I love those military wreckers. The one my Dad and I had was always blowing the lines cause they were old and dry rotted and we only had enough money to fix one at a time. The truck was super handy to have though.

I wonder if you will need to sleeve the bores?

If the block deck is this warped, I wonder how far out of line the main bearing bores are.

It must be so cool to have own milling machine able to deck the block and head. I always have some back and forth with machining shop.
