Looks like a commercial iteration of a card scraper (all time top 5 woodworking tool for me) or cabinet scraper mixed together. The curvature helps to prevent the edges from digging in and gouging the wood... when used properly. Use with two hands.. lightly working your way up with pressure. Great for glue squeeze out removal, varnish removal and very rough sanding. A proper card scraper will get you from 80 grit to 400+ grit in one go although a little uneven. Just clean up with some 320 grit and good for finish.

Where did you get your calipers? They have such a big screen for my bad eyes.

I have the Hamilton equivalent which when checked is straight blade. Bahco also do a carbide scraper with a smaller trianglular blade for intricate work.

I was looking in the Napa real deals flyer and they have what look to be carbide scrapers and in the $20 range with the largest being cheaper then the small and medium ones. I will be going to Napa soon to confirm all this soon

I have bought carbide-tipped painter's scrapers (like the Bahco is) for less...Home Depot had Purdy brand scrappers like that that I still have (staring at it right now)
they are Hyde and Husky now....same scrapers though...👍

Yep, those are great scrapers. The smaller 2" one is great too.

I don't think it's about precision. To make some specific radius you need precision as well... Wood will never be perfectly flat. If you have perfectly flat blade, it will scrape only on the outside and leave inside untouched

@LastBestTool Would love to see if you have a collection of favorite window scrappers for painters. I've yet to find one I "love" and am forever on the search.

they could have made it strait but then it would cut with it sides into the material. The curvature is perfect to prevent his. These scrapers are great to remove antifouling layers of paint on boats. . The brand Gelplane has stepped up the well working design by making the handle hollow so one can attach a vacuum on the end. For boat work often outside, and days of scraping you don't want those shavings flying away in the wind. Regardless which brand it surprises me always how fast even the carbide blades dull.

I like the Werner carbide scrapers much better because they have straight carbide blades. I use both the 1'' and the 2/2.5'' scrapers.
Those scrapers are also sold under the Sandvik name, which is the ones I have that came as a set, a 1'' triangle blade scraper, and a 2'' like yours.

You can replace those blades with planer blades too.

I used to work in a woodworking shop and restored some chairs for my boss, three layers of paint and varnish were no match for this and I've been trying to find one ever since as they are not that common in Bulgaria, twice the price that you got it for too but it's worth every penny 👌

My blade was NOT curved "to prevent the ends from digging in" as others suggested. It was TWISTED, as often habbens when thin blades are formed or heat treated. I know it was twisted because I colored the surface to be sharpened with magic marker before running the blade across a very flat diamond stone. It took me about an hour of work, before I'd removed all the magic marker uniformly.

These scrapers are amazing, And they stay sharp for a very long time, I scraped about 50% of the surface of my house paint off, and after I flipped the blade to the new edge I COULDNT tell the difference! They put the old school carbon steel ‘screeching’ scrapers to shame. Lest count the ways, they never get dull, they take paint off in one pull versus 10, and they never get dull. I threw all of my other old schools ones in the trash. I forget the brand of mine, also made in Sweden I believe, but a different name, looks exactly the same though!
