Below Zero Temperatures | Raising Silver Fox Meat Rabbits

I live in Mn so I feel your pain. My hutches are in a small barn so they are out of the elements. But it still gets cold.

I’m in Quebec Canada … we got down to -46 celcius !!!! My chinchilla rabbits didn’t even care ;)

@rabbitathomestead my doe is now 33days pregnant no sign of delivery, I decided to put her with a buck but she keeps making noise like she's pregnant.
I don't seem to know how to palpate.
Although have watched your videos on it but can't figure it out.
Should I give her one more day?
She eats so well and even more.
Any advice will help.

It's amazing how well rabbits do in the cold. Our silver fox doe kindled that night ( we are in Vt). I thought for sure I was going to find frozen kits in the morning but they were perfectly fine!

Hi from Quebec Canada I love your video the other day we went down to -30c that is very cold and my three rabbits were just fine no problem the day after.They can support the cold weather.Have a good day and stay at warm.

Very nice. You have 2 bucks and how many doe's? I just got my first silver fox rabbits today, 1 buck 1 doe. I was thinking cardboard box with a hole cut in instead of nest box for a cold night or 2. Think that will be sufficient?
