im having a hell of time getting the line into the tank
ОтветитьWanted to say thanks, I watched you're video and was able to repair my chainsaw. Was looking to buy a new one, just saved me some money. Thank you
ОтветитьDo you know what sizes the two different hoses are?
ОтветитьThank yous for sharing
Ответитьa great video, is that a rattle snake i can hear in the background ?
Ответитьya brah, you're cool. Aloha
ОтветитьFuel is not pronounced “foil”
ОтветитьAnyone know the fuel line sizes?
ОтветитьRepaired a similar model 18" Craftsman chainsaw, though I believe it was a model 1-2 years older than the one in this video. It sat for probably 15 years without being touched, so the fuel lines had disintegrated and the fuel had gummed up the carb fairly well.
I drilled that small hole (for the fuel intake) slightly larger so that the fuel tube would slide right through it, then used a small amount of silicone to seal things back up. Made the fuel line replacement much easier. I ended up replacing the carb...new one was less than $20 and I figured most the small parts, check valves, and diaphragms were gummed up due to the saw being in storage for so long (with gas left in the tank).
Dumb, and stupid
ОтветитьThanks. One tip that may help others is if you find that the tubing is too small. Heat it up with a heat gun and that can help just about any size tubing to fit on those very hard to assemble fittings.
ОтветитьYour hands were in the way to show which tube went where.
ОтветитьWent through the comments, I couldn't find anyone ask if there's a filter for the primer bulb. It would make sense as to preventing dirt from getting into the carb.
ОтветитьIs there a link to the carb cleaning process?
ОтветитьThe best video I have seen for this type chainsaw. It is the same as my Poulan 2250. Thanks for showing where all fuel lines go.
ОтветитьThe sketch showing diagram of fuel line routing - - WAS KEY!
Thanks vm.
excellent video great instruction clear picture no loud music to distract you. My fuel lines were already falling apart so the routing was difficult. really good job
ОтветитьThis was PERFECT to get mine fixed! My only three moments of "What the" Was with the carburetor being in so long the seal was sticking it. Just nudged it with a screwdriver and off it went. The second was trying to thread the hose through, That was tough, (good call with the 2 cycle oil) and then I had a pair of curved needle nose pliers. Lastly, the smaller hose had a small Inside Diameter making it hard to put on the fuel filer and back onto the carburetor, I just grabbed a lighter to warm the end of the hose up a bit and that did the trick. Excellent video!
ОтветитьThank you for this video sure did help me!! Just a question how was the idle when y'all put back together ? Thanks
ОтветитьNote on getting the thick tube into the gas tank.
Tools:
Razor or utility knife
Needle nose pliers
Make about a 3/4 inch diagonal cut in the end of the tube.
Insert the cut end down the top of the tank hole.
That should leave enough tube to grab the sliced end through the gas tank opening with the needle nose.
Pull enough out. Square the cut end. Put on the filter. Pull it back into the tank.
I have same saw but I ran the big tube off of the filter into the carb and the bulb on the left side to siphon through. The filters I have OEM are the larger tube size.
Ответитьthanks
ОтветитьThank you so much for the video!! You saved me a ton of work!!
ОтветитьThank you!
ОтветитьAnd once again helped me out greatly in 2021. Thanks so much for posting this.
ОтветитьGreat job, mine was a slightly different model, but your video was a great help.
ОтветитьThe wire is not needed just trim end of fuel line and use 12" locking clamp pliers from harbor freight to pull the line thru from inside the tank.
ОтветитьGreat video, my issue is the carb that is on there sombody took a screwdriver to it and it junk. I bought this at a garage sale for 5.00 so my question is that i have looked on ebay and elsewhere for a replacement carb can't seem to locate one. The carb thats on there is a Walbro WT391 i see a bunch of them but the choke linkage looks different. Have they discontinued that carb? if so whats the replacement?
Thx Cliff
I can't believe I got it running again! Thanks for the video. My carburetor is a little different and has both fuel lines on the right side. The top was the fuel inlet (from the filter) for anyone who has the same one. I'll admit though getting those new fuel lines into the tank was a pain!
ОтветитьGood job, very helpful. But...running a chainsaw in flip-flops...not too smart.
ОтветитьSears craftsman chainsaw carb
ОтветитьWent through several video's, no help at all. Not really show good where lines went or not hear what they were saying. Your pic diagram tells it all. Thank you.
ОтветитьThank you.Just what I needed.I got it done 🙂
ОтветитьWhat year is this saw
ОтветитьI have been working on the same thing but mines nice little craftsman 36cc 16inch bar I have been working hard on the fuel tubes are a pain getting them through there little holes and that wire thing that supposed to pull them through did not work out for me but I did my best and it's still working out alright for me mine the fuel lines are on tope left side and the other is on the bottom right side I at first almost get confused on how I was gonna get this back together but that was then
ОтветитьI'm lost....
ОтветитьWhats the matter charles?
ОтветитьSam, Im working with a Model# 358.351060, looks very similar
ОтветитьJjnh
ОтветитьWhat size were the two plastic lines you ran with the fuel filter???
ОтветитьThankyou
ОтветитьBetter then new 1s
ОтветитьGreat video! It was exactly what I needed to route the fuel lines correctly!
Ответить8 years later and you just saved me from a day of confusion. Thank you.
ОтветитьGreat video, could not believe the dry rotted lines when I took saw apart. Saved much money taking it in. Thank You !
