Did you put a crumb coating on the cake first?

I loved this video.. not to many videos on here that have the recipe to make this.. i have done some marbling with chocolate and white chocolate sauce.. try it out and see if it works for you.. with the primary color in the bowl, drizzle the secondary color on the surface of the primary. dont mix it in, as you pour it onto the cake it will automatically move around and should see the marble effect much better.

For the marble affect after you add the first layer you don't mix it in, but you sorta drizzle it on top, so try that instead 😊

is that sweetened condensed milk? also, use a rubber spatula, please, lol. you need to get every bit out, as baking us a science, and believe it or not, a LOT gets left in the container. Great video!

Would the marble effect have worked if you didn't stir the colors after you mixed them in the bowl ?

just a quick question i see on all the videos i watch for mirro cakes that the cake is always coated with some form of frosting or something before putting the glaze on it is that something that is necessary or can you do it with just a normal cake?

If you pour the light blue glaze first on the entire cake and save just a bit then take the darker color with a spoon and just randomly put the glaze in some areas on top of the cake it will pool into and down the lighter color glaze and drip to the sides and down if you feel too much dark and want a more mixed effect take a spoon back to the lighter glaze saved in the first bowl and put some glaze right onto the cake into the dark glaze that you have pooled onto the cake and it will move and pool off the cake and this will cause the marble effect you were looking for on the cake.

great tutorial, though you might want to use, i thinks its titanium whitening powder, it takes the yellow out of the white chocolate and you get a true colour when you add the colour

Your glaze looks stunning Rachel! I'm going to try this I think. Can mirror glaze be used on a "pour" cake? (I'm not sure on it's proper name but its where it looks like you have a bag of malteasers or M&Ms being poured onto a cake. I'd be using cake off cuts and icing/fondant for the pour bit.)

Hi from across the pond. Firstly, thanks and great job. My question is, before pouring the glaze what is underneath? Is it just a frosted cake? If so, should it be cool or anything along those lines? I hope to hear from you and thanks for all the useful info, TA!

I have a question. I have done about 3 of these cakes now, the glaze turns out fine most of the time, but the last one I couldn't get the bubbles out despite putting the glaze through a strainer several times and prior to that, I used an immersion blender. I also alternated colors -teal and white by pouring them into the same container and I ended up with very little marble or streaking effect. What did I do wrong? My recipe that I use is 1.5 cups sugar, 2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk, 1 cup water, and 1/2 cup corn syrup or glucose, heat to boiling, add 2 packets of bloomed gelatin and dissolve and pour over 2 cups white chocolate chips, blend with immersion blender until melted. Then I allow mixture to cool to 30C/90F, and pour. The first 2 cakes I did were near perfect but this last one I did, was bubbly and the glaze kind of rippled down the sides of the cake making it look lumpy on the sides. Maybe it was too cool? What advice do you have for this sort of issue - especially the bubbles?
