Atreus Leaves Norse Realm & Kratos Crying Ending Scene (God of War Ragnarok) 4K ULTRA HD

Hard to imagine a more happy moment for a father than seeing their son grow to be a better man than themselves.

It is such a small gripe but I HATE that Atreus is only 14 in Ragnarök. I wish they’d started him out 14 in the first game so he could have been 17 here. It is WILD to me that they’re just like “okay literal child, bye, travel the world alone!” like he’s grown. I get it’s not modern day but 14, even in this kind of setting, is younger than anyone would set out on their own lol

What an unbelievably great combination of story and battle. God Of War And GOWR are some of the greatest games we’ll ever experience imo

The edge of the cave where Atreus looks up to from Kratos' PoV has the silhouette of a Giantess' carving. It's another nod at showing us Faye was still always alongside them both, in their minds and spirits, how Atreus seeks his own path, with the blessings of their people.

The moment Kratos’ voice started cracking, and his voice was so wholesome. I broke down in tears the moment this happened. What a beautiful game. Out of all the BS kratos has been through, he actually got what he deserved. to be loved.

He ain’t leaving the realm he said he’s gonna find more of these shrines

Seeing a depiction of Kratos being Loved and Worshipped hits so hard..

My biggest takeaway here is that, deep down, everyone wants to be loved whether they're a man or a god.

We thought this is the best ending Kratos can get, and then Valhalla came…

He was able to find peace with this ending

He was able to accept, and make, peace through the DLC

This scene and the last scene of Valhalla GOWR hits hard

Forgiving oneself. Peace. Hope

This is why this series will always be my favorite series.

I've always found it interesting how Freya ends up as your traveling companion when you go back all the way to the beginning when she attacks him.

What a long, incredible journey it's been.

I might be reaching, but I think what made the last painting even more impactful is that it was the (same?) paint that Him and Faye used to mark the trees and their path. She used it sparingly and then painted Kratos' whole image with it.

I was a kid when I played GoW 3 and I never thought I could ever see this side to Kratos

Lost my father recently. The scene where Kratos and Atreus hug cuts a lot deeper now that he is gone.

It very related on real life... It not atreus is not ready... But kratos him self not ready to let go his belove son... That touch me so hard

The best ending a game could give. Kratos salvation of thinking he couldn’t change, but finding a wife, having a son and realising that he CAN change. Slowly getting his soul back, Kratos has come a long way. Also having another brother like Mimir

The best god of war ever !!! This ending was very emotional. I had to hold back my tears. Bittersweet but very great ending. Loki will go atreus will remain 😢.

Am I selfish for wanting a video game that’s all about kratos last living general that he killed by accident getting revenge and the general accidentally getting himself killed fighting everyone just to get to kratos

GOW 2018 began with Kratos telling Atreus that he is not ready.

GOW 2022 ended with Kratos telling Atreus that he IS ready.

Fuckin perfect.

when you play god of war 4 and ragnarok you can see the changing relationship betwen kratos and atreus after that many adventures the "loki will go atreus remains" hits hard enough to make men cry

Kratos preparing Atreus to survive without him payed off without Kratos having to die. Now Kratos gets the happy ending he deserved and may finally rest and his son can continue going on adventures to help people alone. I do genuinely hope Kratos isn’t the main character in the next game and it focuses entirely on Atreus. I don’t mind if we see Kratos in cameos or even play as him in one scene (like Ellie in TLOU 1) but I hope it’s focused on Atreus so Kratos gets a fully peaceful ending.

I watched this like more than 100times already but still cry every time watching this. Hopefully we still can play as Atreus in the next god of war series 🙏🏻
