I dont mind paying taxes or even high taxes as long as the people have power. Paid leave? Better vacations? Employers who cant just lay everyone off because they feel like it? Education that works? A powerful medical system not run by a mafia? Provide that, and ill stop weaseling my way out of taxes. Its 2024, we have the tech and the people to fix this.

Government may take too much money for taxes true. But every time you drive the governments there, every public school, hospitals, generic medications, social security, licensing. I have been to Lebanon and driven it.....that's where you see an abscense of Government

I think people don’t understand where their taxes go. Roads, parks, infrastructure, hospitals, programs, education, police, etc. It doesn’t just go to the employees. In order to maintain society, taxes are used for communal benefit. Many of the safest and happiest (based on standard of living and quality of life) have higher taxes. Income inequality and corporate greed are bigger issues in this country.

That statement is a very radical view of the tax system. If used correctly the tax we pay is meant to provide for a health system, social security, schools and colleges, urban and national roads, bridges, and any other transportation, defense,and the list goes on. Now whether the taxes are used correctly, correctly proportional to your income is totally a different issue. That is why we should all vote on everything so that the best choices for the country and ourselves are made, and that good honest people are voted in, by majority vote! That is how true democracy works. At the end of the day any land without a government is an anarchy, and I for one wouldn’t like to be there!

Taxes are too high and there is a lot of waste but we must respect the good the government does and not throw the baby out with the bath water. I am grateful for the roads! For water purification!

We also must respect our government with our words as we respectfully advocate for change. I don’t think we should normalize the f word as we talk about the government. We gotta point out specific issues of waste (like overuse of expensive technology in public schools) while still being clean with our words 😊
