Meanwhile, most guys that use VC get JUST AS MUCH toxicity directed at them as girls do. The angles of attack are different, but EVERYONE gets crapped on. It kind of annoys me, the discussion of 'treatment of girl gamers', because there is an overfocus on the 'angle' used to attack, with little to acknowledgement of things like serious harassment not occurring on a consistent basis (like, actual, meanspirited type occurs maybe one lobby out of every 10-20 hours of play unless you go actively trying to start stuff or are a recognized streamer/community important or such) or the fact that people with, say, a heavy accent or a speech impediment getting just as much abuse.

Sexisms not okay, but it's really not helpful to pretend it's anything other than a low-hanging fruit method of the same toxic dipsticks who will go after ANYONE who shows any kind of angle they can attack. Legitimate meanspirited misogynistic attacks from people who wouldn't attack someone with a low quality mic, weird accent, or other 'target' are an extreme rarity.
I dealt with getting called a 'squeaker' and sometimes assumed to be a chick because of a faulty mic for literal YEARs. I saw far more harassment on that basis than female friends did on their gender. This was back in the CoD Lobbies on XBL days as well, MW1, WaW, and MW2, where things were a LOT more toxic and unrestrained in general.

People who want to be dipsticks are going to be dipsticks regardless. They will take the most obvious target and use it to attack ANYONE. It has little to do with you being a girl, and more to due with the simple fact that it's a lowhanging fruit that consistently upsets people, often triggering whiteknighting behavior and other arguments.

Seriously people like this are soooo rude, it really goes to show how our generation has aged and where its going... However I don't know why you don't just mute them when you get in the game, and to suggest that this issue generalizes HEAVILY around girls I think is obviously subjective, and I see it in a completely different way. I have been targeted, made fun of, treated like an asshole just like anyone else that has probably played Valorant with randoms, I never let there shit get to me because at the end of the day, it's just a game and they are the victims of their own doing, if anything just turn it around on them, laugh like a mad man, start acting like a complete psycho., it trips assholes like this out. That is the main problem here, there are assholes in this world, people full of hatred, some evil, some lost. That is ultimately unavoidable and you find them everywhere, especially in today's generation (the internet, social media, public school), when you run into these people they find ways to hurt others, or to convert their internalized anger or emotions into verbal attacks that have no meaning if you don't let it. When they say something supposedly "sexist", especially in the gaming community, like, "oh its a girl, she's gonna be shit". They are saying that because they know that it probably means something to the girl, and it hurts them when it shouldn't
They shouldn't be treated that way, not saying they should be. What I'm saying is that it is utterly unavoidable, so if you can't take a couple hideous attacks or dumb insults, then you have no business playing a game like valorant, because unless you always have a five stack, or good friends you can play with, you are always gonna end up running into an asshole like these people. So unfortunately I will have to say tho bringing awareness to this problem is not the worse idea, it also gives attention to those assholes that continue to do that and be completely jerks. I wish some people could just not care, it can be hard, so if u can't do it, then quit or find a five stack. I don't know if I explained everything I meant correclty to a T, uh but wahtever, idrc, just wanted to write this because I feel like some people should know this isn't a sexism problem, its a human problem.
