Kind of reminds of Whiplash, especially the scene where his lady friend walks out of the room similar to how Niemann breaks up with his girlfriend to pursue his musical career.

Scriabin for the elevator

as a pianist, this one hit home. luckily for i avoided the concert pianist career path and choose to not take classes at the New England conservatory at age 12. This is an excellent low budget short film with a powerful narrative, great job!

Extremely well done with great acting and sumptuous music. But we want to know: DID HE GET IN? Did he get the scholarship so his parents can afford to send him?

I didn't get what is the moral from this short film 😢

This is the same BS I went through 60 years ago when my parents told me that I needed to get a “real” job. One that had a steady paycheck every week and benefits. That’s the way things were done back then and I put my foot in the trap. I was told the arts and entertainment field was not reliable and you never know where your next meal is coming from. I retired a year ago from a steady paycheck and benefits. Every time I see somebody carrying a violin case, guitar case, wheeling a cello down the street, or loading a drum set in the car I could kick myself in the ass. I took a path that pleased somebody else and not myself. I’m the only one to blame for that. The only positive thing that came out of the direction I took is my beautiful daughter of 23 reminding me that if I stayed music, she wouldn’t be here. I didn’t need to hear that. I watch her as she takes the direction she wants to go, despite everybody else’s opinion. Bravo for her. I constantly remind her it’s her life. She can do what she wants and the only person that has the answer for her decisions is her.

English is not my mother tongue, i don't understand what exactly is the message behind. Can you explain your perspective of the short, please?

It's a great short film. It was so attention-catching that I felt that there should be a continuation, to have a full motion picture. I felt is stopped too short of telling the whole story.
