Scott Ian is not a top 10 guitarist and let's be honest none of us actually enjoy Kerry King's solos. Marty Friedman over Dave Mustaine, Kirk Hammet has been a mid guitarist since 1988. Van Halen is not a metal band and should be in the rock top 10. Glenn Tipton is better than Dave Murray, Dimebag should be higher, Chuck should be on the list and John Skyes shouldn't be in the video. Lastly as a huge Black Sabbath fan Tony Iommi should be lower on this list because the only thing he is top 10 in is influence which shouldn't be enough to give hime first place.

Excluding classical and flamenco, which are really disciplines of their own, the greatest guitarist of all time besides Jimi Hendrix is Eddie Van Halen, he belongs at the top of the list. Sure, Randy Rhoads and Tony Iommi may have had a greater hand in the development of heavy metal, but in terms of technical skill and proficiency, nobody beats Van Halen, unless you expand the list to include Hendrix.
