Italian composer Niccolò Paganini's Caprice No.9 in E Major is often referred to as "The Hunt" or "La chasse". It's brilliant use of double stops goes from mimicking flutes on the A & E strings to the horn on the D & G strings. He wrote the 24 Caprices from 1832 to 1840 and dedicated them "alli artisti" (to the artists).
