No offense to Obama but he dropped the ball. He had the chance to make a statement that would have kept Russia at bay indefinitely. When the "little green men" marched into Crimea, Putin was testing the United States leadership's resolve as they always do. When Obama did nothing that was all the message Putin needed to invade Ukraine. When multiple members of Obama's cabinet told him he needed to do something then to make a statement, he did nothing and now thousands of innocent Ukrainian civilians and unwilling conscripted Russians are dead because of it. I'm not saying the war is Obama's fault. I'm stating he could have stopped it before it even happened if he would have acted when he had the chance.

I doubt your sanctions did shit to deter Putin. He now has much worse sanction going and it doesn’t stop him. He did not want to do a full scale invasion but he ultimately felt that he had to.
