After World war II, USA I didn't just give the money. It gave money on the exchange for precious metals. So, basically let's say, the France gives them some amount of gold. In exchange USA gives them some amount of dollars. With a promise, that, when they will bring back the dollars they are getting back their gold. In reality, once the Europe started to bring back the dollars to get their precious metals back. Nixon set everything that I owe you I forgive you. 🤷 And since then a dollar cost a dollar. It's not even a banknote anymore. but, it is a tander. 😂
btw, Alaska was not bought neither. Russia have never received a penny for this territory. And the agreement itself was fake. 🤷
