Nice watch but nearly every Patek is overpriced. Though if money weren't an option. The 5207p would be my Patek of choice

Beautiful as this watch is, I always feel that a perpetual calendar should have an automatic movement so you can wear it every day without having to wind it or put it into a watch winder.

GOAT watch no doubt

Love this overview. In addition, this obviously isn’t an every day watch and because of the price point, no one reviewing it will be able to let it sit for a few weeks, then re-set the watch. I’m told that when buying this watch (or the new 5270) you actually have to meet with a Patek specialist and get trained on how to use the functions properly. My question is: If you let this watch sit for say a month, how long would it take to set the date, day, month, etc? Love the idea of a perpetual calendar. In addition, I know it’s a labor intensive timepiece for the watchmaker as well as the wearer…

Beautiful! And I agree that these watches, and the annual calendar, really define Patek...not the nautilus.

My ultimate grail would be a 5270G, but yes, the 5970R is indeed what I also think of when I think of Patek. Gorgeous pieces, works of art that are alive.

Water resistant to 30 meters. Water resistant to 30 meters. Water resistant to 30 meters. 👎👎 Enough. Stop giving these super expensive watches a pass for low physical capabilities. If you own a watch like this and your watch gets invaded by some pirates, you can't even deep dive with it as you escape 👎👎 👎👎
(All luxury watches need to be capable of at least 100m of water resistance.)
