So yea, there's a typo in the drive section. Oops.. More like "under $70K"
ОтветитьI have owned and driven the 2021 E450 for 9 months now. The 2022 model was not in stock due to Covid at the time. Infact, I had to wait for two months for the Hermes communications Module to arrive and be subsequently retrofitted due to supply chain issues. With the extra options that I purchased, the retail price should have been $71,060, but I had to pay an extra $17,500 on top of the MSP because the lot was empty. The car has been a blessing and it definitely meet up to expectation in terms of performance, comfort, convenience, and safety. It is my fourth Mercedes Benz and the best so far. Am loving it!
ОтветитьI want to order the 450 but the 350s on the lot are tempting me..
ОтветитьIt’s ugly.
ОтветитьThanks For Sharing...
ОтветитьI know they sell a ton of their smaller models but Mercedes needs to just sell E S SL and SUV’s if you can’t afford at least an E you shouldn’t be in the club…
ОтветитьUnlike the always changing interiors that date lineups…I like how Audi and Mercedes move slowly in exterior designs…even if a touch boring
ОтветитьWish a car at this level would go back to analog speedometers/RPM instead of computer screen…the center screen is fine for tech bit imo going analog would make it look retro classy..
ОтветитьAlex, I have a feeling you are biased because you were born in Europe?
ОтветитьReally good review for this kind of car.
ОтветитьWhat suv have you test that has the best ride quality on bad roads and less cabin noise?
ОтветитьThey are well made and drive great but they have Zero presence on the road. Mercedes really needs to get away from designing all of their cars to look exactly the same. If you go into a dealership, it is extremely difficult to identify one model from the next. Also, stop designing them in a wind tunnel. Slicker is not better.
Ответитьi'm usually annoyed by reviewers but this is an excellent and informative review
ОтветитьThey should zhuzh up that front end.
ОтветитьYou did a superb job. VERY Detail oriented hitting every aspect of the car! You give more details and info than my sales rep.
ОтветитьI think i would get a lightly used Lexus ls500 for around 55-60k ! That thing will last forever and hold value. The e is nice tho but lacking presence to me😩
ОтветитьEver since Lexus discontinued the GS model, I've been looking for alternatives. I'm torn between the E-Class and the 5 Series. Anyone else having a similar dilemma? Really disappointed with Lexus' decision.
ОтветитьI have an E300 and love the pep and handling. Plus at 70 on a flat interstate highway, I get as much as 42 MPG. Prior I had. a 2005 E500 wagon with 190,000 miles on it and a 2010 E350 with 89,000 miles on it and this 2019 E300 is my favorite. I tied to buy a new E350 but none were available because of the chip shortage. I found this 2019 with only 2,782 on it and I snapped it up. The Volvo S80 did not handle like an E Class.
ОтветитьGenesis g80 or Volvo
ОтветитьMuch like the 5 series, this E class is/has become our (American) drivers car! The S class and 7 series (same as the A-8) are the mini-limos for the Chinese marketplace these days. I'd take the E450/E53 or the 5 series (540) instead of the other BIG/HUGE players in this segment/market. The E class is the E ticket for my ride!
ОтветитьWhere would you put the coupe version of this car, and is it worth looking at off-lease E450 coupes coming onto the market based on your impressions between the cabriolet and now the sedan? Reliability seems to be better when it's optioned without the air cushion suspension but then is it even the same ride anymore haha
ОтветитьBest review and comparison out there . This needs to be a a training video for Mercedes dealer sales personnel.
ОтветитьMercedes is not about looks is really about tech and ride comfort
ОтветитьNot sure how “high roofline” equates to 1/2” of headroom. Sounds dangerous. Tight footwell and luxury vehicle don’t really sound like they belong in the same descriptive pot. I think we can include the G80 in the conversation with the S90 right? The motor and fuel economy are impressive. The room in the S90 says luxury while the compactness of the E450 does not. The Genesis and Volvo would be my considerations.
ОтветитьIt’s not an A6 though is it
ОтветитьIs there an option for second row climate? Here in Australia, I can't find any mention at all - major fail IMHO if it's limited to dual zone. Once again Alex, you fail to mention Audi - why??? The A6 has tri-zone climate as standard, and decent toe room. What have you got against Audi?
ОтветитьWhy did they get rid of the hood star? Now it looks like a CLA!
ОтветитьE450 all the way. Hands down
ОтветитьI have watched several videos in my research on the Mercedes E class sedan. Yours is by far the best I’ve watched, delivering the details I want clearly and objectively. Thank you!
ОтветитьIt's a benchmark for high depreciation and high repair expenses after 100K or so.
ОтветитьPoor reliability. Not made like they used to be when they were built to last indefinitely.
Ответитьmy 48v battery just died last week. I just got my e450 4matic only 3month
ОтветитьHonestly Mercedes has watered down their brand image IMO. They don’t try to go above and beyond, as far as exterior design. Pump out a basic sedan body, and slap a star on it. But I guess it’s about the driving experience nowadays
ОтветитьAlex, the E450 is a great ride, I concur. I look forward to your review of the CLS. A E450 with a little more styling pizzazz. Lets face it, while the E450 is supremely capable, it is dull to look at. It has NO road presence. It is a sleeper luxury car. The CLS adds the proper styling cues... and please can we stop placing so much emphasis on rear seat headroom? A young family isn't buying a CLS or an E450 for that matter, as a family hauler. They are buying crossovers. I have a a Lexus ES350 which is coming off a 39 month lease in just a few months... no one - not one person, has EVER set foot in the back seat.
ОтветитьOnly until the warranty runs out. Lexus is king.
ОтветитьI would go Genesis G80 3.5TT Sport when it comes out. I much prefer the exterior design and interior design of the G80. The refreshed E Class looks unattractive now.
ОтветитьThanks Alex. I’ve learned so much from your channel over the years.
ОтветитьA magnificent review of a magnificent car - a car that is a suitable match for your analytic skills. Would I get a new E-Class? Yes, I would - if I had a liquid net worth of $1.75 million (4% for a car is reasonable). To me - as an average bloke - the problem with these dreamboats is this: they are dead meat after only 10 years. They are 90% depreciated; they are out of warranty; parts are not just expensive - they are often unavailable; the manufacturers and dealers won't support them; there is no 'second act' - instead, it's off to the compactor (as in Goldfinger).
ОтветитьHonestly the E 450 is the only sedan I'd ever want. There's just something about it that makes it the perfect combo of sport, luxury and elegance that just no other manufacturer has met. Hell even MB hasn't met this blend in any of their other vehicles. The S class is just an executive transport, the C class is just a sports car. Really if money is no object, you can not go wrong with an E class, but you can with just about anything else.
Ответитьi really don't like the way the E class looks on the outside but like the interior and the lights. that genesis is very good looking all around....
Ответитьmost e class do not have the air suspension, and do not ride that well
ОтветитьI really love the "off road" wagon version....( Rolls-Royce Cullinan owner).... I need to rewatch your review. On that..
Ответитьit has a very boring and uninspiring look. looks like the older generation Hyundai
ОтветитьAny voice commands? Miss the Hammer with each new E-Class.
ОтветитьWould love to have massaging seats. The rear bumper likes like a front bumper but in the back. More headroom than most but your head still almost touches the ceiling? Does that mean that in other vehicles you can’t sit upright? Rear seat backs are too upright for long comfort. Accord rear seating space looks cavernous compared to this car. Are they both classified as midsized? You would want to touch those panels under extreme cold or heat 🔥 conditions. Those 🦋 headrests are primo 👌. That brown leather looks like……. pudding. That wasted space on the infotainment screen is a waste of space and diminishes the usefulness of that space. Those steering wheel buttons look like something you’re likely to accidentally hit on a pretty regular basis.
ОтветитьI’ve had 3 benzs since 2014 and they depreciate like a rock.
ОтветитьYou had me at amber turn signals
ОтветитьSame stale exterior design.
ОтветитьI would never buy an SUV. Long-live Sedans and especially wagons!!!
ОтветитьGenesis for me in this segment.
