Bought 2 air hog planes for grand boys. A 1st edition & a later version. They were superb! Much cheaper than R/C or free flight kit builds..
No fuel, batteries chargers or motor needed. Ours easily exceeded 150' in altitude and flight time was good. We flew in a large, a very large sports complex, with soccer field & attached area. Many times the prevailing wind would carry those planes out of the complex into the surrounding scrub brush. Sadly the pump attachment broke. After lots of rough landings we'd patch them together with very thin clear packing tape. They looked like rugged veterans but flew like proud eagles. Sorry the airhogs passed away in favor of less enjoyable toys.😢

What, if to make the valve-opening pin movable, loaded with spring, that it will close the valve earlier by higher pressure, and later by lower pressure? To make some type of pressure regulator? To achieve constant force by different air pressure in the bottle?

Speaking of airhogs, does anyone remember "Jammin Jets" (at least thats what they were called in the USA)? Basically a free flight glider except it had a water rocket engine in it. Same exact idea as a standalone water rocket which you put some water in and then add compressed air, except it uses that to provide thrust for the plane. I never had a whole lot of luck with mine, mostly because I didn't have a large enough space to launch it in.

What about decreasing the volume above the piston to almost zero? I noticed their was a small area free. Wouldn't hat get more work for the same given volume of compressed air?

been working on my own 3 cylinder version, finaly got it made out of brass and runs wonderfuly, @60 PSI on a 10L tank it will run for a max of 4.5 mins with a flow regulator.

amazing simple motor concept. but if it's working off compressed air, wouldnt it make sense to make a turbine based motor? power source being air, going directly to roating force, should be the most efficient way
