This is just fantastic. Thanks so much for uploading this. Have read Jon’s book and it’s even better to hear him describing what happened with his presentation.

There is a whole slew of after the fact anti Jon Krakauer smear channels popping up. It's the new cool contrariam stance to take. I believe non of them.

Jon's story is mostly accurate but he failed mention some important details.

Before I get into those let me add what others have said. What anatolie did was super hero like. Saved 3 people. And Beck weather's story is a must read/watch. He details how he was mentally preparing himself for death when he had visions of his family. And that made him get up and wonder into camp 4,

Ok so Jon mentions leaving an O2 bottle at camp 4. What he doesn't say is his ran out and Neil, the guide who died, gave Jon his last O2 bottle. It's very sad he just overlooks the obvious implication that his incompetence was a factor in Neils death.

There's more. But I’ll leave it at that.

I never thought "Into thin air" disparaged Anatoli. He questions his decision to guide without O but Anatoli a legend who did nothing wrong and John knows this

I get so tired of hearing someone say “people don’t realize it but Sherpas do all the work and we couldn’t climb it without them”, trust me we all know this, not only is it said every time I see an Everest video but it’s obvious.

Krakauer you ruin the life's of Sandy Hill Pittman and Anatoli Boukreev. Sandy because she is a journalist as you are so you wanted to got rid of competition and Anatoly who saved lives is a bad guy for you. You strike on dead people that can not fight you back accusing them for 1996. Everest disaster. Just wanted to seek for commercialization of your book. You made it, good for you 👍

This mountaineering disaster was definitely a combination of many different factors, but the critical one was the ferocity of the storm.

I have a fascination with Mount Everest. I have watched everything available on Mt. Everest and other mountains, and then I started reading Jon Krakauer's book "Into Thin Air". Until then climbing Mt. Everest programs didn't give me the truest impression of what it was really like, and you can't know completely unless you have been in their shoes. After I finished reading Jon's book, I sat back and thought about what I had read and was overwhelmed with the reality of what those climbers really went through.

I don't know the talker doesnt do it for me because I feel like I'm just being dragged along on a rather random conjecture storyline that never ends nor is self-explanatory as to why I am listening to this specific part for example. This talker should've set a few clear points to at least himself as to where he's going.

Very disappointed that the end of this presentation was cut. Especially due to the fact that, depending on who is telling this story, the facts change drastically. You can tell, just like everything else in life, the group of survivors broke off into clicks who look at each other in completely different light. John's account here is the story I give the most weight to because he is not past saying he made a few major mistakes in judgment that may have cost people their lives. All the rest of the accounts? (and I've heard and read them all) No one else seems to shine that light on themselves...they all point to 'hey, someone else dropped the ball.' The movie that was made in 2015? I don't know who was behind that nonsense but whoever it was made some really damning accusations with no proof! Sandy short roped the entire way??? She was a well known climber! That's Bullshit! John pretending he was snowblind...come on! He tells you what happened right here! Anyway, with that said, there are 2 people I blame. Rob and Scott. Rob had a wife and child and should NEVER have gone against his judgment of the 2pm turnaround. He got people killed including himself. Something was wrong with Scott from go. He ignored it and ended up leaving his entire group leaderless the entire acsent and decent. Andy Mike and the Russian as well as most of the Sherpa were all heroes. Of course this is just my opinion.

So, you lied about Anatoli Boukreev and made him the villian, when he was them actual hero of the Everest Disaster. It figures. He was Russian. But I just watched a documentary that lists out the evidence of that climb and his brave rescue of the stranded climbers and his ascent to try to save Scott Fischer. You are a liar, Krakauer. A shameless liar. The true facts are out. And you, Sir, should be ashamed of yourself.
