This is so authentic! The nice, well meaning mom who is a bit too much for her adult kids, and the dad who is like "I'm just gonna ask if their ok. They'll let me know if they need help so i don't need to bother them."

This one goes out to the dads. I became a dad late in life and I look kind of like the dad in this sketch from the outside, but there are good men out there who fly under the radar and who I model myself on. They're unspectacular, they fly under the radar and hate drawing attention to themselves, but when they're needed, they're always, infallibly there and they'll support their kids and offer a very occasional word of wisdom out of the blue.

And I KNOW I'm over-analysing a three minute skit, but they both love their kids in different ways. They're still together, for a start, the dad turns up on his wife's game show because she wants him to. While she's demonstrative, he's not, but he's still there for them.

This was eight years ago, before "Karen" was a thing, but even then....Karen was a thing.

Serious question from an old white man: I know this skit is all tongue-in-cheek, but is it AUTOMATICALLY racist for a white person to tell somebody of a different race they look like a famous person? Or is it only racist if it is insulting, as it would be to a white person, if, say, you said they look like Rosie O’Donnell or something?
