I've seen it the first time probably 3-4 years ago (pretty late but still)
And still, everytime I rewatch it, I end up crying... Maybe I remember old pets I had or some other reason but it never fails to make me emotional...
And all cause of a cute little fictional dinosaur that always helps his plumber friend out. Honestly this is just beautiful...

You know, we just had to put down one of our three dogs yesterday, and it hit hard for me especially since the dog in question just to happened to be my favorite of the bunch. Suffice to say, this song is super fitting for what I went through, and it hasn't even been 24 hours since I had to say goodbye...

Every so often when I feel down I come back to watch this. It's equal parts happy and sad. Which is typically what I need in moments like this. Thank you, for this and for the entirety of Brawl in the Family. I know I'm several years late, and this comment probably won't be seen, but if it is, have a nice day. Things will get better.

This is my headcanon now. When Mario and Yoshi were trying to make the jump over a very large gap Yoshi then boasts Mario to safety. Mario then grieves over Yoshi's sacrifice. The rest of the game plays out the same and he dose save Peach. But he eventually finds Yoshi again alive and well it turns out there was a river at the bottom of the pit
I don't care what people say Mario and Yoshi are best friends and Mario would never leave Yoshi behind to die. I mean yeah Luigi is Mario's bro but Yoshi is a close second in my book. And before anyone says he hits him might I remind you in the artwork it shows Mario pointing for Yoshi

Pets can be so sweet, and they'll always love you when you love them.
Yoshi always cares for mario, even if mario wasnt the best- neither was yoshi
But they were fine with that.

Yoshi isn't just a pet.
Yoshi isn't just a best friend.
He's family.

And to lose him... would be devestating.

I decided to watch the original after seeing Jeremy Chung's rendition of it, and I had overall the same reaction, but the message at the end really hit me like a truck. I lost my cat last year and it still hurts so much 💔

But, I'd rather not end on a sad note, much like the video. Great animation and story in just two short minutes, and to anyone out there who has loved and lost a pet, my heart is with you 💛

This one never fails to get me. I've seen it before, so many times, yet here I am, crying about my dogs yet again. I lost one 10 years ago, she ate something she shouldn't have and had to be put down. The other, two years ago, just before Quarentine went into full swing. He died of old age. The two of them were of the same litter.
