Wish I had a drawer big enough for spices. This house is 40 years old and designed by a man who didn't cook. The house is twice the sq ft of my old one, but less kitchen storage.

We have very similar brains! I'm not Adhd, but I am OCD. I use the high side lazy Susan's for spices in my corner lazy Susan cabinet..it works Amazing & stuff doesn't fly everywhere when the cabinet opens & closes. I use the spice risers for my baking spices above my stove along with baking ingredients..vanilla, extracts, baking powder & soda (which, I decant). I like the lazy Susan idea for the Yeti tumblers, but, my cabint shelves are from the 70s & don't move🙄

I have a kitchen built in the 1970’s and I have been struggling with the spice cabinet. I will be copying this spice cabinet to the “T”.

Congrats on your new home! Penny is in heaven with her new swimming hole. Since I do not have kids, I always move into a house with consideration for my dogs ( presently 4). The deep breath “ Ahhhhh” exhale feeling that you expressed is EXACTLY how I want EVERY room of my next home , especially the entrance to feel. Spa- like. I will be moving in 2024. Just me and my woofs, so I can do whatever I want. I choose an Oasis feel.

It’s beautiful for sure!! But I need to know what bamboo drawer dividers you found that were “crazy cheap”??? Cause the only ones I can find on amazon are like 2 for $20! Which adds up FAST when you need like 20 of them! Did you find a cheap version??

Love the ideas. A magnetic shelf for the side of your refrigerator, microwave etc would help keep those spices or jars organized and in easy reach

The crumbs in the utensil drawer!!!! Where are the crumbs coming from if the utensils are supposed to be clean!!! Mind boggles me because I get the crumbs too!!!

Pretty kitchen, but not functional and/for practical.

My MIL is from India and regularly travels the world. Whenever she does, she always picks up beautiful and interesting kitchen tools. That means I get interesting and beautiful hand-me-downs of all kinds. Things very similar to your adorable rock salt shaver set. Something I have learned from having all of these nifty tools is that cooking is a lot more delightful when your tools give you a dopamine rush. Not everything she gives me is useful but I have been pleasantly surprised by the majority of these tools. Plus, my kitchen is full of personality.

When you decant something and it doesn't all fit in the new container, what do you do with the extra? I find it difficult to throw away useful/good stuff, but I hate having extra, partially filled containers that are duplicates.

I wish my kitchen was workable for so many of your ideas. It looks like there's plenty of storage, but it's just, well, funky. Drawers. But the drawers are narrow and deep. And half the cupboards are the "over the fridge" type of high, open voids. I am finding that I need to invest in some square airtight containers and possibly a couple of baskets for the deep recesses of my food cupboard. I'm on a super tight budget and have "made do" with my various dollar tree containers.

Stacking silverware trays are 10 x better than those trays take up less space & I have my pans & plates in china cabinets in the living room my kitchen is not big enough. I found risers do not work for me I used lazy Susans much better & they don't fall over when you grab the spice next to it
