Super Mario Bros. 2, which was just a reskinned Doki Doki Panic in Europe and thus also completely different from any other Mario ever, and Mario Land for the Gameboy were two Mario games I really enjoyed playing as a kid. They were not too hard, I managed to finish them both, and provided hours of fun, so I don't know why people always bash on them. Sure, they were different but they were very good games nonetheless.
