are you sure about the map being larger? haven't bought the game yet but all i can find online is people saying the map is 1:1 in size

My take on the long grass is they're trying to make you use 3rd person so when ARK 2 comes out and forces 3rd person, you're already sorta used to it.

ark survival evolved with the building mechanics would be the best option.
caus i dont need better graphics with huge fps drops.
even with i9 and 3090 u get huge fps drops, many times server crashes, and the same bugs like evolved.

but evolved is better for pvp
i like my generators as i know them. with ascended u can only place 3 close by.
i want my cables back.
gens without cables sucks.
ark was nearly perfect.
only thing sucks was the building mechanics. to lower shit was a quest.
xD thats far better in ascended.
but to take the bugs with in ascended thats something wildcard/snailgame really messed up.
why desync why grapple bug? that is really annoying

My problem with this game is that it has the wrong rocks now, ASE was correct with its rocks being a dull gray and even ash or black as its a volcanic island full of igneous rocks, now the rocks are all sedimentary which would make almost no sense for it to form like this

If this is early access, why is everyone willing to pay 50 dollars for it? I mean, Ark Survival evolved on early release was like 20. They are charging you 50 for halve a game 🤔

Seeing the old map reminds me of the time I saw a unicorn and I though it was just a different coloured horse and watched it get killed by dilos

you can make tall grass smaller by lowering the ''folliage'' quality. it actually doesn't affect its quality, but just reduces its quantity

I noticed that even in a private, single player game,
if you don't have BattleEye running,
your STEAM fps counter is disabled.

the first person camera view is just set lower down for some reason..

You need to make your character taller. It's small by default

I may go for the same spot that my tribe and I used to play on back when we first stated, due to there not being a whole lot of places due to a toxic player who had been playing for much longer and had stumbled onto a fairly empty server and proceeded to pillar everywhere in order to prevent people from building up. This was before they changed the settings to require people to log in and refresh timers.

We ended up building on a small rise in the SE corner of the map, just off the beach. There's that one artifact cave, the one with all of the spiders and bats. Exit the cave, walk over to the water, and then turn to face the cave entrance. Pan upwards to the cliff and you're at the location.

Not a wide area, with two large land ramps leading upwards to it, but it was relatively flat. Didn't really have any predators pop in either. I think we had the odd Dilo that wandered up that we had to worry about.

anyone know how to fix stuttering? i have 50-60 fps on high settings but the stuttering is ungodly. huge struggle to tame/kill anything because i’ll run up to a dino and it glitches and i end up back where i was before i got to the dino if that makes sense. its like the frames dont drop, but the actions i take do/lag behind?

Is this just a pay for reskin of the same game?

Thank you for making this. I was wondering what was off about ascended, the yellow tint and color palette are off.

Some better textures sure, but it mostly looks like a warmer colour, double bloom, and 10x the fog

My base building places are up high on a place you can't get to without climbing or flying. And none of these places are it.

Game is so unplayable.
Day one epic graphics low lag all night

Day 2 a lot of lag unplayable on epic had to go to low

Day 3 game is not bootable and crashed every 1 min.

Each days optimizations got worse
