Do you think we can save this & get it for free?!
Dont forget to like the video and subscribe!
Whatever happened to this car? Does it have a new owner?
ОтветитьYes, I love the idea for you to get cars running too, great job
ОтветитьGET THE CARS RUNNING
ОтветитьENGINE IS A COVENTRY CLIMAX 1.5 OR 1.6 CC ABOUT 60 HP
ОтветитьI think it’s a real shame to junk a car, especially an extremely rare Austin Healy, as it’s history and numbers and identification are forever lost. Were the money available, a heritage bodyshell could have given the car a new lease of life, preserving its story and history for years to come. Failing that, new sills, floorpans, etc are easily available from the MG Owners club and many other suppliers.
ОтветитьI like you asking for feedback about what I prefer in your film. First, I have enjoyed WD Detailing for years. In highschool my first after school job at Bills Auto Polish in Lancaster. The following summer I was a detailer for Shorty Harper in Santa Monica. For more than 50 years I bought and flipped cars.
I want to see you guys and girls and hear you speak while you work on the cars. I prefer you talk about what a car needs mechanically and that you do some of the work.
Kind regards, and Happy Holidays. I have been all over the USA and the best place of all to work on cars, drive them, show them, buy, sell and drive them is within Santa Cruz and Monterey counties in California! 😎. p.s. Happy Holidays. I look forward your 2024 New Year videos!
With enough money.. you can put the car back in life
ОтветитьGot sucked into that one
ОтветитьI want the Austin!
ОтветитьYes and more yes!
ОтветитьWhere is the jack stand
ОтветитьIt's amazing that the paint job restores as well as it does. Kudos to you guys and Austin-Healy for a solid paint job and restoration.
ОтветитьNice job cleaning up my future car. 😂
ОтветитьI love seeing you all as well as the cars, it's nice to see personalities that are doing the car care! Great videos boys!
ОтветитьI like the way you are making the videos
ОтветитьI acquired a sprite in worse condition that this and had it fully restored to new condition. It is possible to do it as all parts are available. It just depends how far you are prepared to go and how much you are prepared to put into it. Usually it requires more than the current market value , but these are great fun cars and will be worth the effort.
This body shell does look repairable. Inner and outer sills (rockers) are quite cheap, as are the floor pans and boot floor. The engine is a BMC A series and they are quite reliable units. It is definitely a viable restoration. There are repair panels for the wings all available from the MG Owners club or from Moss.
Good video. I like when you cut away to give updates about what you had to do about the fuel lines. Other details like that and about procedures would be good.
ОтветитьI am a car enthusiest
ОтветитьGreat content! More getting the car back to life and fully restored, only comment from me!
ОтветитьI wanted a Fiat Spyder so bad at 18 in 1975, but they were $9000. I see this car whole, intact, but I'm an optimist when it comes to cars worth owning. Motorbikes too.
ОтветитьI want the Austin!
ОтветитьAwesome Video. We want to see everything. Most of us are keeping our old cars going.
ОтветитьA wise person told me that if man made it, man can remake it! So theres a lot of rot. I saw a Triumph GT6 in such a poor state but when an Aston Martin trained body man got to it he simply ordered up some sheet metal and set about making all the obtainable repair panels by hand.
ОтветитьHate to say it but I saw the car as a give away when I logged in
ОтветитьI want that austin its do nice
ОтветитьI remember working on one of theses in auto shop for my teacher back in the 70s
ОтветитьI would love this. I have never won anything.
ОтветитьI WANT THIE AUSTIN
ОтветитьI hope someone makes this car showroom new inside & out
ОтветитьIt's such a shame that the car wasn't better taken care of; it's a cute little thing.
ОтветитьSeeing the detailing of the vehicles is great but the interaction with your subscribers makes your videos REALLY great. Makes you more personal-able, if there's such a word. 😅👍
ОтветитьYour face is similar to Elon Musk by the way
ОтветитьAre yall acting like yall didnt see the plate say ohio🤔
ОтветитьIf you guys can save that Volvo, those were great cars.
ОтветитьIt is probable a 1275 A series engine. The poor thing is way too far gone to fix up. I am working on a MG Midget which was 100% better than that one and it still needs major work. I have replaced the floor and the rear apron on my one.
ОтветитьAfter my dad retired from the Navy one of the first “toys” he bought himself was the Austin-Healey Sprite. One of the first things he and my mom did was a road trip from Southern Illinois to San Diego, California. The car performed beautifully all the way there and back. Unfortunately, they were not able to take any luggage bigger then a duffel bag. I think he changed the oil in Cali and then the same when they got back. Other then that - nothing else required. I drove it a couple times and I liked that it was spunky and fun. I didn’t like driving it on the interstate - it was just to small and I worried people couldn’t see me. It would just zip right along. Dad’s was blue with a black interior. My dad not here anymore, but I know for sure, that little car brought him a lot of smiles.
ОтветитьIf you're gonna clean em up they may as well run too.
ОтветитьThe motors were just under or just over 1 liter in displacement depending on the year and had around 50hp. I think a lot of BMC motors were small tractor motors and adapted for use in many different cars. BMC didn’t have the money for much product development and parts were used in as many different cars as possible.
ОтветитьThe first sports car I ever drove was an MG Midget, the upgraded version of the Sprite. That would have been around the mid to late ‘60s. My buddy let me drive the car all day. What a blast!
ОтветитьDon’t waste time on cars that have no hope of ever being put on the road again…I’m only interested in those that can be fully restored. Seeing more of you guys is just great—such personality is welcome!
ОтветитьA blowtorch work WONDERS for British cars.
ОтветитьPlease stop.
British cars have no business coming back to life.
I know the idea sounds romantic (mostly just stupid) but these things WANT to return back to the Earth...
...let them.
hey guys I would really love to see you guys go find an old classic car and completely restore it from top to bottom
Ответитьwell I really think that you guys can actually save this classic car all you have to do is first measure the length and width of the floor boards and then work onto the rest of the car
ОтветитьHere for the cars and detailing not the personality
ОтветитьLove Austin Healey, but honestly - I'd rather have the Volvo!
ОтветитьI enjoy watching your detailing but would love to see the finished car running
ОтветитьIn their day they were very competative and I believe the datsun spl311 or Fairlady were styled after it. They were fun handled great and on the gymcana courses very competative.
