Lol, not everyone in the uk has the luxury of buying land and keeping chickens. Many live in houses here with small yards or live in apartments. Re cut and prepped veg, some who work long hours or have good jobs, buy here for convenience. Armish are brought up, especially females, not having to work or given land by family. They need to realise no one size fits all and we have a completely different way of living. They need to realise why are supermarkets and the way they live, is totally a different way! If people here had time; didnt need to work 40 plus hrs a week paying bills and mortgages; and had the luxury of land, we would and could live a different way of growing our own food and having animals. I dont know why they was shocked with our supermarkets and what they stock with questioning each other, surly being in the uk, they came to realise we live in a faster pace with men and women working and with very limited land space 😅

And a lot of us are born with disabilities and are trying to learn different cooking recipes. Some of us have food allergies a lot of us also cannot cut very well we have to be supervised. Some people cannot cook with disabilities so they have to hire somebody or have their family help them.

We’re not Lacey a lot of his work at the grocery store and we get paid. Hardly anything. If you work a corporate job, then you can have more variety like go camping or cut down trees in your backyard and that came thing, but there are laws to follow.

I get the comments about the cut up fresh veg, it’s usually overpriced for what it is and it isn’t that much effort to cut up some whole carrots, peppers etc and you get more for your buck. Plus the carrot peel has a lot of goodness in it. But I’m coming from someone who only batch cooks over the weekend because I have a full time job elsewhere so there’s only so many hours in the week to work and cook home made meals, do laundry, grocery shop etc. So convenience wins a lot, especially with frozen veg. And honestly, 5.99 for half a dozen eggs? Rip off. Unfortunately I live in an apartment, so I can’t get chickens, let alone a cow for that fresh milk!

Where is this at? I live in The 4th largest Amish Community. Geauga County , Ohio. Not only do the Amish shop at places like Walmart, Giant Eagle, Aldi's, Save a lot, the young out of school 16 year old girls even work there. The people shop at Warren/Niles Mall in Trumbull county, and get books at libraries. How do I know all this? My husband is an Amish Taxi Driver. They sure do a good job of fooling Yankees who don't know better.
