At very begining, those arrows were held with tape as they were equally spaced and you would not need to try and hold all six. You did a excellent job of shooting six without any wild ones or straies.

1) I had this huge silly grin plastered all over my face the whole time I was watching. this is awesome!!!
2) Like so many, I thought it was pure fantasy (speak: impossible)
3) in Chinese historical TV dramas the war heroes routinely shoot 3 arrows simultaneously in 3 different directions, hitting 3 wildly different targets. That is my old and new "impossible" 😂

But would it be possible with a longbow? Nocks on modern bows clip onto the string and stay there pretty well but a longbow nock slides onto the string and isnt as secure. Ive shot 2 arrows for fun... too scared of breaking or losing arrows to try three or more...

Hi, new follower here, have you ever done a video with banshee arrows? The ones with large arrow heads with holes in them so they whistle (or scream depending on who you ask) as they fly?

A fun presentation :-). I hate to be a spoilsport, but no, it isn't plausible with medieval wooden arrows. You cheated a bit by using arrows with modern plastic arrow nocks that will clip onto the string and stay there without being held. Medieval arrow nocks wouldn't do that, so Robin Hood would have to wedge his arrows slighly between his fingers to keep them on the string. This should make it impossible to shoot any more than 3 arrows at once (using an unorthodox 4 finger grip)

A joke shot gag in a Mel Brooks comedy film is more plausible than about 99% of the stuff in John Wick, a film franchise which takes itself very seriously.

re the split finger grip: could you improvise something that would hold the string for you, like a short strap attached to the string above and below the arrows, then pull back in the strap?

I love the comment about how the character was probably using a heavy bow, even if the actor wasn't. A lot of people seem to have trouble thinking that way

The whole point of making a film is to tell us a story. And the things we see the actor do in the real world don't have to be exactly the same as the things that the character supposed to be doing in the story

…and people will accept that without thinking about it when they go to see a pantomime: they see a woman in her twenties, and accept that she's playing Peter Pan, a 12 year old boy. In reality, she's hanging from wires, and we can see them. But we understand that in the story she's flying

People seem to find it a lot harder to think the same way about film and TV

It would be interesting to see how many you can manage with a bow trigger inbetween an even number of arrows

I loved Robin Hood: Men in Tights as a kid. That and the Disney version where everyone were animals were such a huge part of my childhood.

I could "theoretically" see this as almost practical.

It seems like something that the US Marines would come up with though. And knowing those GLORIOUS bastards, they might just be dumb enough to make it work successfully. (Good thing they will never have bows in combat. They are terrifying enough barehanded....😅)

You see the problem is, you need to check the script.

So, why are you still using the first and second finger when during four or more arrows? Wouldn’t using the first and fourth be more effective? (Keeping in mind that I’ve shot a bow before, but only ever one arrow at a time and this was two plus decades ago.)

Did you notice the arrows sticking less deep the more you shot at once? Because the force behind your pull should be the same but then split in between the amount of arrows, right?

Would a wind up crossbow or balista work as well? High draw weight and low firing speed, but you compensate for the low speed with massive volleys with this technique...
