Jacob McCandles in "Big Jake" and Kaiser Soze in "The Usual Suspect" both should have been here:)
ОтветитьThe T800 on Terminator 2, at the Corral Bar the DeLorean/Doc Brown In back to the future, and somehow, Forrest Gump, humble But builds up with the narration.
ОтветитьIt would be great if you could find a non-sexist way of introduction for female star next time. No women make the cut for this list.
ОтветитьNo Shrek ALL STAR?
No thumbs up.
So much of what CineFix argues is supported by simple preferences and opinions rather than facts. Weak.
ОтветитьAs far back as I can remember,
All I ever wanted to be was a gangster
As for Wonka, the best thing about it was he insisted he be able to do the summer salt OR he would not take the role! Literally! It was not scripted (to walk out w a limp and them roll up to be fine). This was a condition he insisted on after reading the script! Makes it 10x better imo
ОтветитьAgain, PLEASE, less talking more scene! I understand you are attempting to educate in this video which allows for some talking (as opposed to simple list videos where creators seem to think people are there for them and not the clips). However, I think these videos should be less than 50% content creator speaking. Allow us to take in the scene without distraction
ОтветитьShout out to Miranda Priestly’s introduction from The Devil Wears Prada! Andy, like the audience, has no idea why everyone is so afraid, but we learn so much about Miranda’s character and reputation from everyone’s reactions as she slowly approaches the building into her office.
Also, of characters being introduced before we get to meet them, is Doc Brown from Back to the Future. We get so many pieces of information about him through his home and characters talking about him, only getting to finally see him alongside the DeLorean.
Similarly, a personal favourite of mine, Captain Haddock from The Adventures of Tintin. Before we meet him, we learn the backstory of a cursed family line, a story of failure. When we meet the Captain, we get to see the outcome of that curse: a broken, alcoholic man whom has lost almost everything but his pride as a sailor and the pride in his name (not that we learn that aspect right away).
John Wayne in Big Jake.
ОтветитьAh! Landa, da sind sie ja!
ОтветитьI like Greta Garbo’s entrance in Anna Karenina and Marlene Dietrich’s in Witness for the Prosecution.
Ответитьcaptain jack sparrow had the best character entrance in movie history
ОтветитьDude no shout out to the V speech in V for Vendetta!
Ответитьhans landa(inglorious basterds) and candy(django unchained)
ОтветитьWHERE THE HELL IS JACK SPARROW
ОтветитьDerek’s introduction in Step Brothers number one. He literally saves the scene with his solo.
ОтветитьWhere’s Jack Sparrow?!
ОтветитьEvelyn Mulray in Chinatown.
ОтветитьOne of my favourite introductions is Tony Leung entrance in John Woo's Hard Boiled
ОтветитьJack Sparrows has to be the best one i have ever seen
ОтветитьDarth Vader
ОтветитьThomas Shelby 💓🔥
ОтветитьFudging it on 5/6. In order to build your dichotomy about men and women, you are almost exclusively comparing male LEADS with female supports. You omit the Ripleys and Beatrix Kiddos that reveal the cheat.
Ответитьthe only good ones here are james bond, the good the bad and the ugly, indiana jones boo hoo
Ответить#10 - Faye Dunaway as Joan Crawford in 'Mommie Dearest'.
ОтветитьBest introductions... hmm, the Major from GitS SAC. I mean she is nude so not really wearing anything different but it becomes apparent in seconds she is not to be "fuked with". Memorable to say the least. The anime series kinda sell it better, Motoko knowing full well she is sexy :) I won't lie, sometimes she feels like some old bro/friend kinda dude though she might break something of mine if I ever told that to her.
PS.: From the anime movie, not the live action thing. No offense to SJ but she has no chance to sell the physically-imposing woman type. Just nope. Unless we are talking maybe Arise, the Major is anything but frail looking.
Jay Gatsby and Darth Vader must be on the list…
ОтветитьDialogue intro: Crash Davis in Bull Durham. "I'm the player to be named later."
ОтветитьWhat movie is #4. MF?
ОтветитьWhy do people assume men look at women like objects? Firstly, Jesus Christ that's insane men are not all human traffickers. Secondly, mEn AnD wOmEn ArE dIfFeReNt?! Why do people act like A) this isn't true B) it's bad or C) that it's someone's fault?
ОтветитьWilly Wonka as number one??? You guys are awesome!!
ОтветитьThe dark, slow, rear camera intro of Marlon Brando in Godfather.....epic
ОтветитьHepburn in Lion in Winter ... that first look at her playing at a domestic role seated in the window, the pleasure flickering across her face as she rapidly calculates all that is to come, her first line ... and we know she is hyper intelligent, political, aware, and ready for the challenge.
ОтветитьAbsolutely gorgeous explanation. Thank you very much
ОтветитьThe "Reveal" award should have gone to another David Lean film, "Great Expectations" when it was finally revealed who Pip's benefactor really was.
ОтветитьHello! I have an unending love for when the original Godzilla (1954) finally shows up after much destruction. Honda does well to hide the iconic kaiju until he perfectly appears over the hill. The design is menacing.
ОтветитьIt’s crazy how women in classic cinema are introduced as feminine characters. It’s almost like their femininity is a strength. Imagine.
ОтветитьWonka deserves first spot - especially as it was Wilder's idea - but a little surprised Austin Power's entrance wasn't even acknowledged!
ОтветитьOne of my favorite entrances was Ed Harris in snow piercer. Another instance of a character built up the entire movie that you're not even sure if it's real and then boom, it's ed harris.
ОтветитьI think this list is awesome. I'd love to have seen a reference to Cameron Diaz in the Mask or the T-Rex in Jurassic Park but that's just my childhood of seeing those moments in the cinema.
ОтветитьI will always think that Sean Connery was and is the good or bad hero. It might simply have been that darn Scottish accent Sir Sean Connery had.
ОтветитьConan the Barbarian (1982). Sandahl Bergman's Valeria. Not the blushing, sex pot intro. Still remember it.
ОтветитьNeo from the Matrix is literally asleep. The computer is searching. Neo wakes up and takes off his headphones, ready to wake up and engage for the rest of the movie. Great intro.
ОтветитьI'm actually pretty shocked that Tim Curry from Rocky Horror didn't make this list. :O
ОтветитьCame here for Harry Lime and you didn't disappoint. 👏🏿
ОтветитьExcellent list. I did think the intro of the Sundance Kid would be here. He talks the cardplayer out of drawing with him by making the cardplayer ask him to stay, then when the cardplayer asks him how good he is, the Kid shoots the man's gunbelt off, shoots the gun out of the holster then shoots the man's gun across the floor.
ОтветитьThanks for including so many films to which Millennial and Gen-Z viewers may not have previously introduced. So many of these "10 Best" lists include only the films which are part of the current zeitgeist. By acknowledging such pics (and picks) as Stagecoach, M, The Third Man, Cool Hand Luke, Lolita, even Yojimbo and 7 Samurai, classically aged (or aging) treasures of the big screen, you are doing an immeasurable service to cinema culture. Among the many who profess to know film, you actually seem to do just that...KNOW, not profess to know.
ОтветитьIt was an interesting video until it turned into woke propaganda around #6. Stopped watching.
ОтветитьOne of the best in the Indy Category is Death in Supernatural, the Music makes it even more perfect, the best charakter introduction of all time, in my opinion.
