Your explanation for the candle and bottle trick was in the right direction, but not exact.

The hot air and other gasses floating upwards into the bottle are less dense (due to the higher kinetic energy making their molecules push onto the surrounding air and away from each other more forcefully) but are not immediately of lower pressure. What happens later when you lower the bottle enough to choke the flame is that the existing hot air molecules in it start to cool down, which lowers their pressure at the given volume and thus they "contract" against the external pressure of the denser atmosphere; the resulting differential causes a suction which pulls in the water.

For the light bulb, you put the first battery the wrong way.

You're supposed to strip the color out of your hair before you use that kind of hair dye. I used to use it all the time when I was younger. There is/was a product called seventh stage I used to use to strip all of the pigment out of my hair before putting the blue gel dye in. Since the bright colors like this usually only come in a one-part semi-permanent dye they generally do not have the same developer and other ingredients that let it really chemically replace your current hair color. So you have got to get rid of the current color first and start with it as light as you possibly can. On top of bleaching or stripping your hair first, It's also best if your hair is as dried out as possible when you put the gel dye in (the blue stuff) And then you always want to let it sit for a little bit longer than the bottle says, and then without rinsing you add conditioner first and a lot of conditioner run that through and then rinse lightly WITHOUT ANY SHAMPOO AT ALL and dry it thoroughly with a towel that you don't care about because it will shed some dye for the first few times you wash your hair. That's just how those semi-permanent dyes are. It will also shed a little bit anytime you use hairspray or any alcohol based hair product or anything particularly acidic or corrosive or that "opens up" your hair (kinda like how heat opens up your pours) a lot... They could've used a 12V bulb in the bulb life hack, though I doubt they make Hue bulbs for 12V. It wouldn't have worked anyway, there's nothing connected to the negative of the batteries, so there's no path for current to flow.
