I have a Note 9, and just bought and returned the S23 Ultra. Its not impressive, the sides are hard chine a feel horrible in the hand, the fingerprint sensor is a nightmare and is not reliable. I am thrilled that i am using my note 9 again. the Note 9 will not upgrade past android 10. there are companies out there that will do it.

Thank you for your video. As a Note 9 user I still am having considerations about the s23 Ultra. But you nailed all the emotional and functional attachments that note9 users still have. I replaced the baterry for the 4th time already and even replaced the back cover that git broken and it looks and works like new ! The only thing I miss on it that is battery power. It really lasts less than a day and I have to take care to have a charger always at hand. That sucks. All the resti is superb. Maybe Its time to thank my phone for the service and all the good time we had together. I hate breaking up with my phone for a slighly better ine that is also slighltly bulkier and bigger in size and thats nit necessary.
But after your video I might make the step.

Just switched to the 23 ultra a week ago after 5 years with the note 9 and have mixed feelings. The ergonomics is a downgrade but everything else is a upgrade. I wish Samsung would have stuck with same form factor.

Note 9 will hopefully get an update, but not from Samsung... Maybe some Note 9 Fans would band up together and "infiltrate" one or an other competitor, and make the "Quill" or other Note analogy name for Note, phone, that could also partner with Flipper zero and include IR sender and receiver, Headphone jack, Iris scanner, heart rate monitor sensor, Radio antena, 4g only option for network that you find in portable modems, propper stereo speakers, extendable memory and dual sim, and some decent cameras (not to mention the toughness structure), that is the only phone I will change to from my beloved Note 9.

After writing down the pros and cons for each i decided not to upgrade yet, i'm losing way too much by upgrading compared to what i'm getting like who needs a 120hz screen anyways, the only pros of the 23ultra is the zoom(which is only kinda fun sometimes) and the better processor which is completly normal after 5-6years of technology and ngl my note 9 is still running smooth and never lagged, it's just getting old the battery is pretty much dead and so is the fingerprint sensor that got kinda peeled overtime, imma just replace the battery and wait for the next one maybe they'll actually put something on the table because it's crazy to me that after 5 generations the only upgrade and new thing we have is the processor and camera and we actually less features.

You called me out so hard with the tape on the back comment, I've had the s23 in my house 2 days and I'm still ignoring it atm. I had to upgrade because the lack of software updates have made making calls buggy, my only real gripes with the upgrade is that they purposefully destroyed the note 9 by not upgrading, and the lack of sd card is f annoying as a tattoo artist who uses my phone to store a zilliom pictures. I tried using my new phone the other day, I'm acutallg only not because it needs a case but I tried drawing on it and it was not fun ob the table because of how they've placed the cameras really sticking out on one side. Really hoping a good case fixes that !

I’m in the Note 8 position still, because that was the last Samsung phone I’ve had and I’m currently on my 13 pro max, but I haven’t had the best experience with it. I really want the s23 ultra, but whenever I get a job I’m afraid I won’t be able to afford it, by the time I do make some big bucks the s24 ultra might be ideal for me

My S23 Ultra is on the way to replace my Note 9. The price kept me away from the S23 Ultra because I couldn't get approval for financing through Verizon, T-Mobile etc. I also love the fact that there's no selfie hole in my screen on my Note 9. l was going to wait for Samsung to come out with the under display selfie cam however, once I saw they still are not doing so on the S24 I decided to finally go for it. Hopefully my eyes will trick me into ignoring that damn selfie hole and I will be happy with the new phone!

I ordered a s23 ultra today at tmobile and will be trading my note 9 tomorrow. Love the note 9 and had it for like 5 or 6 years now, still works great. But......its just time to retire it and get the new. They gave me $500 for my note 9 trade in. I'm even getting a Samsung watch for free with it also, just couldn't pass that up. Only thing I'm gonna miss is the SD card expandable storage, which is why I ordered the 512gb 23 ultra model.

Great review.
I loved my Note 4 but it was fading fast after 5 years so I leaped to the Note 9 and have been a very happy camper since 2018. Though it is still performing I am greatly tempted to leap again to the S23U while the Note 9 still has a decent trade in value...before I regret not trading it in. I am an S-Pen user/artist and cannot contemplate not having a stylus on my phone. Are there any alternatives at lower cost?

Now the phone feels like new again. I think I will stick to the N9 for some more years. Maybe I will give the Noble ROM a try to have actual software.

So that means its time for me to get note 9 since they are finally arent breaking a bank.

Also phones gotten so powerful and unless you compare side by side cant tell them apart when using for daily tasks. Oh and it still has those "legacy" features like SD card slot and 3,5 jack which are extinct in every flagship phone these days.

A display with a hole punch is a dealbreaker for me. I could never persuade myself to upgrade. The newer phones such as S23 Ultra might have a 120 Hz display Or a triple camera setup But it is lacking the vital features Such as expandable memory cards, A unique punchless design, A physical headphone Jack. You can't find all these features all in one in any other phone. They want to force you to spend more to get more for these deleted features. Buy the 3.5mm Headphone Jack dongle or Pay more and get the more capacity instead of expanding your memory.

I never had the note 9 or any note for that matter of fact but I didnt care about tech/phones until 2018. Even then I decided to get an iPhone xs Max because I didn't care. But switching from my xs to the s23 ultra green 🍏 has been absolutely a amazing experience. Very fast and amazing battery life. I definitely am going to have this device for years or come.

I like the new foldables and the idea of having two screens and a big screen. But 1800USD? I got a 6GB Ram 512GB Rom copper edition Note 9 refurbished like new for 300USD. I liked it so much I got another 6GB Ram 512GB Rom Lavender edition. Now I got 8000 Ma battery, two screens, double Dex. One is for work, and one is for play. One in the pocket, one in the work bag. Then I got a display model Galaxy tab 7A for 100USD for that big picture but light carry.
I'm just trying to think what to do with the other 800USD. "Don't you mean 1100USD?" No, I bought another refurb like new note 9 and I'm just keeping it in the cupboard.

My note 9 died last month. It lasted me for a good solid 4 years. Using a S23 Ultra now. Honestly, the iris scanner on the note 9 was way accurate than the current face unlock. Same with the physical fingerprint scanner, compared to the in display, which is not really accurate at times !

I still have my Note 9. I absolutely adore it and it really is the complete package with basically no compromised on anything for the time it came out. However it is starting to show it's age slowly but surely. Also my toddler cracked the screen after it being flawless for all these years and the cost of repairing it is absolutely ridiculous so I may have to bite the bullet and accept a new phone with less features than I have grown accustomed to, but at least I can look forward to improved software, camera, battery, etc.

The s23 ultra is the best phone I've ever used and owned coming from the s10 plus and why i gave the a53 to my mother. The Samsung s23 ultra is better than the iPhone 14 pro max and Pixel no comparison, and I've used all 3. For those of us who know tech, we always knew Samsung was way more fun to use with more capabilities than the iPhone. I used to be an apple sheep many, many years ago, and then I transitioned and never went back. I remember apple phones being the most boring limited phones I've used. The only thing I use on my old iPhone 6s is the imessage period. Even using the 14 pro max irritates me because my s23 ultra does way more. Also, the camera is way better than the iPhone and more fun unlimited features. IPhone sometimes give the perception of better battery because it doesnt do anything basically. Now, with the pixel, I don't prefer the operating system, but I respect the pixel camera. Only gripe I have is the missing micro SD card. When it comes to those things like edge panel multi tasking, S Pen capabilities , 10 x perfect clarity, UHD 60 and hdr 10 video , all those unlimited features are close to perfect. The s23 ultra is the most value for the money, no comparison!

However I will say the Sony Xperia V 1 with the micro SD card and headphone jack has impressed me and it will be the next one I get even despite the lack of facial recognition!

Samsung should have left those old features like the note 9 and s10 plus and i even complained to them to bring those old features back
