We always make Pignoli cookies. It's an Italian pine nut almond cookie. We are allergic to pine nuts so we leave them out. But they are chewy, naturally gluten free and SO incredibly good!!! Snikerdoodles are a staple for our Christmas celebrations as well. Oh my gosh the conversation with Eleanor is hilarious! You are NOT old, but that was so funny. My kids wouldn't dare call me old, they would be a little dented if they did.(kidding) They love the old music, 80's music is my 13 year old son's favorite.

So, when I make pie crust, I actually use room temperature butter. I feel it works in quicker and is easier to roll out. Once I place it in the pie pan, I put the crust in the freezer or fridge to get cold and then bake. It becomes flaky and tender!

Did you find a new fudge recipe, as that's not the same as the other one you made? The other one used 6 oz of bakers chocolate not cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of corn syrup with the butter and Velveeta and microwaved that. If that one tasted good still, I might have to try that as I actually wasn't really a fan of the other recipe. 😊❤

I use Crisco to make pie crust and the original Betty Crocker pie crust recipe. It’s perfect every time!

My pie crust hack is to use lard instead of butter. Compensate for the salt with a little more since the lard is unsalted. Also add a splash of white vinegar to the ice water. Don’t overmix.

So glad you made the anise cookies. The snowballs are my favourite, but we call them Russian Tea Cake cookies. Always made with pecans and sprinkled with icing sugar when hot! Delish! We always make brown sugar shortbread cookies!! We made the peanut butter blossoms for the first time this year! I started making some of our Christmas cookies just after Thanksgiving and freezing them. It has helped me so much!
