Cost Of Living in Charlotte, NC: Is It Affordable in 2024?

Alright… question: Single Person 65k a year, about $400 car and insurance payment right now. Can I afford to live in Charlotte, renting?

I pay less than 800 for my studio. Definitely not getting a roommate. I work remotely so that is nice but the uptick is causing anxiety but I definitely would like to relocate to the Charlotte area. I don’t know where my place is but without risk, no reward.

It would better to compare similar size metro areas. You can compare any midsize city and it will look good against those 4.

Comparing housing costs of Charlotte with NY and San Diego is not a fair comparison.

but how can you even afford a 1400$ “studio” making 14$ an hr down there plus getting a car? I wanna move down there (from NYC) but it’s like impossible financially. I’m tired of feeling stuck here in the city. Nowhere is affordable !
