I never liked VW's. Even from the square, bang-the-doors-shut-but-then-the-outside-handles-break-off model. But NEVER expected this kind of review, because if i had to buy a VW, it would be the Tiguan or Touareg.?! 😱 😳

Honestly mk1’s are brilliant but the mk2s are nothing but trouble. If you get one your car will be more in VW garages than on the road with issue after issue if you don’t believe what I just said check all the forums from leaking sunroofs to mechatronic issues to brake issues and clutch issues the list goes on you can get VW 3 year warranty if buying new but the majority of your problems will come after

I’d recommend buying one of the following cars if you can afford it instead: bmw x5 Audi q7 or q5 Volvo xc60 or xc90 they are much better cars now as the mk2 tiguans are awful all I can hope for is they don’t ruin the new Touareg because other than the mechanic faults they come with it’s mostly the new electrics that fail giving you a proper headache

Even if you get luck and you get one that has absolutely no issues it’s not worth the risk due to how many issues everyone is having I’ve had 3 off VW as the first 2 were clearly faulty and the 3rd one got issues then fixed after not having the car for 6 weeks being repaired by VW another issue is flagged by the car then VW recalled them honestly worst experience of owning a car and so many thousands of people are in the same boat

Man, you are sutch a Millennial. Wine some more. Just because the asembly plant for your country cannot do a good job doesnt translate to other factories in other countries. Any 4 year old car with miles on it will have some "shiney" spots??? Seems like like NO used car is good enough for your reviews. Ive seen many and will not watch another. Gday.

I am about to get a used 2011 Rline Tiguan thats racked up over 100k km. I have checked it out and seem pretty decent and the auto shop I took it to also said its alright. After seeing this video, I am not sure about getting it anymore considering the problems mentioned

I like watching your videos because you're not biased. After watching half your videos, I couldn't spot a single mistake! The video I'm waiting for is the b58 cars😬

Surprised by the negative review. Our friend who is a mechanic, recommended buying one second hand. Have had one for nearly 4 years. Only a minor issue that didn't cost an arm and a leg to fix at a local mechanic/repair shop. Parts are easy to come by. But, if we had taken it into VW - could've been expensive.

Have a 1.5 tsi (manual); no issues so far (60k)... extremely reliable, great economy & practicality... and pretty quiet too.

Just traded my 2016 tiguan with 200k kms in for a passat. I had zero problems with the tiguan. And when I say zero I mean zero. Nothing broke and it only had regular service. Got it chipped from the start with stage 1 and never failed on me. I warm the car up and run it hard.

Well, the mechanic is tottaly out of place, or simply a VAG hater. 5 out of 10 Tiguans with serious issues? I guess VAG is totally stupid still making it, posting almost 8 mill sales in 15 years, yes, they did it all wrong and people are stupid still buiyng it! I wouldnt even take my bicycle for fixing to that mechanic! Terrible resale values on the Tiguan? Is he on some kind of drugs?

Steering wheel is not worn because its shiny, it's fat deposits from hands. Cloudy chrome needs to be polished and sealed. You can't expect any car to remain shiny without proper detailing.
People buy new cars and 1 year later the paint looks terrible, no surprise mate, it's not waxed or ceramic coated.
My VAG car from 2015 looks just as new as a 2 year old car. It's because I keep the paint waxed. Once a year and takes a day.
Or just get it ceramic coated.
