I just love this video! - all the detail and the way the live views mingled with your reference grabs - even looking thru your picfinder ...viewfinder tool. (I need to look that particular one up.)
ОтветитьThanks this was interesting and helpful. I need to get outside to paint!
ОтветитьThank you Sarah for a great instructional video, learning so much.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьWow. Thanks.
ОтветитьHi Sarah, I've been spending a lot of time drawing, but on my first attempt in watercolor, I quickly realized how little I understood color. Are there any books or educational sources that you could recommend to help with color theory, mixing, and using color? I'd be ever do grateful 😊
ОтветитьSarah, your interest in ART is not just passion.......its UNCONDITIONAL for you....which makes me feel the same.
ОтветитьThanks for the great video.
ОтветитьThank you again Sarah for all your Very inspiring videos. Well Done!
ОтветитьYour videos are always amazing! I really love these types of videos, where you show us a slice of the life in Scotland! Thank you!
ОтветитьOne hue...which has max variations is GREEN..proof for that is soft pastels greens..tons of greens
ОтветитьYou really clarified the "values" for me in this study. I plan to use this in my next painting. Thanks Sarah.
ОтветитьSarah, this was so helpful, thank you. I especially appreciated seeing you mix the colors, watercolor is so responsive!
ОтветитьYou might enjoy this week's video of Colorful Collage
ОтветитьExcellent refresher for Springtime!
ОтветитьVery helpful! Thank you! 😊
ОтветитьThank you! What an interesting tutorial. I enjoyed looking at your process. It doesn't feel So overwhelming to me now.
ОтветитьSo helpful…thank you Sarah
ОтветитьLOVED this demo video!!!
Q: what are the crops in the farms in your opening and closing shots?
This instruction is so valuable! I'm really working on exactly this, simplifying, connecting the big shapes and doing value studies. Then toning colors to approximate the values has been a huge challenge for me, but somehow I have never used a grayscale value finder tool. Now I get it! As you say, I think THIS is what I have been needing to help train my eye. Thank you so much!
ОтветитьI love the way you explain your thoughts and process in a way that really makes sense 🥰
ОтветитьYay a watercolor video. Doing forest paintings is the hardest for me because it’s so easy for all the green to muddle together. Your tips will help me a lot.
ОтветитьThank you for such a valuable lesson in watercolor. I have been pouting a bit, grumbling every time I see gouache — I met you through your watercolors and I really miss them! The value to color connection has been an area of study for me for some time. Your video really made a difference in my comprehension. Off to watch it again!
ОтветитьThis is sooooo helpful, translating the valuestudy to a first sketch with color and now I understand a bit better how to think. Thank You!!!!!
ОтветитьI was just in the Highlands, for the first time: I'm in love! Gorse and bluebells everywhere. And baby lambs! Love your videos
ОтветитьThank you for sharing how you approach this scene with watercolor. I mainly work with watercolor so this was a real treat to see you work with this medium again. I don't work with gouache and it's not the reason that I follow your channel (you are excellent with that medium and I recommend your channel to my friends who are interested in gouache). I follow your channel because I very much enjoy watching you be creative no matter what medium you use. I'm a nature girl and it's a big attraction for me with your channel. You inspire me to get outside and do art every time I watch your videos. So thank you for that!
ОтветитьYay watercolor!!!
ОтветитьHi Sarah! Would u be willing to share what you use to edit photos? And where you learned? Did u use Skillshare?
ОтветитьLove the phthalo turquoise + burnt umber.
Last year I developed an allergy to “convenience” greens!
Your advice is always so helpful, thank you❤ and I love your paintings!
ОтветитьThank you. Lovely scenery and excellent demo teaching values ❤
ОтветитьI love your plein air videos. My allergies are so evil this year I have to make do with source images.
ОтветитьThat was a great tutorial 😊
Ответить🐇Hare we go… a little piece of heaven ✨🙏✨
ОтветитьThanks Sarah for this video. Aha moment for me and so lovely to watch you paint. 😊
Ответитьwe used to use an old slide frame for a viewer or make a cardboard one, or a piece of plastic and graph it
ОтветитьWow! A jackpot Saturday with TWO videos posted! Greens are so challenging. Here in FLORIDA everything is turning into a jungle because we have had 3” of rain this past week. I have been studying all the different colors or green mostly because my former pastures have become forests and I am surrounded by the abundance of fast growing plants and trees. The tiny new grape leaves have magenta edges and bright almost chartreuse along the veins of the leaves. Avocados, Mayer lemon, live oak, wild cherry, Canadian thistle all different greens and values. Overwhelmed! Thank you for your lovely process video. ❤️☮️🙏🏻
ОтветитьYou know what comes across so strongly from your videos Sarah? Art is a tool that you use to understand the world around you. And you see it so very beautifully.
ОтветитьLovely scenery 😍. Great video as always.. love your green mixes
ОтветитьThank you for sharing.... what watercolors are you using?
ОтветитьI found I’ve gotten a lot more confident with my green mixing since doing months 2 & 3 gouache lessons from your Craftamo subscription. Now that things are starting to turn green here, I think it’s really going to help me stop relying on my convenience greens so much 😅. I need more practice pushing things “back” into the distance by choosing the right values/colours; it always looks so effortless when you do it. I can do it when I’m following a lesson and hearing suggestions, but doing it on my own is trickier.
ОтветитьI am learning so much from you, THANK YOU! You are amazing!
ОтветитьSarah hi newbie here wow the the scenery looks so much like it does here in south Ireland rural and beautiful and emerald greens and purple and white heathers and also the blossom of the mayflower trees blackthorn. My favourite time of year is now. Question do you make or mix your colours and add them premixed for your palette loving your channel. I havent left a comment before but gone through your older videos and thumbs up high tfs sylvi
ОтветитьYou are brave to paint in the car like that with the water and everything :) I would probably spill the water, get paint on the car seats and myself and break a camera...not even sure what would happen to the sketch 🙃But well done! Lovely session! 💚💛💙
ОтветитьYour green field today could have been somewhere in New Zealand. Especially the aerial view at the end it could have been shot here in the Waikato where I live. Any buildings would show it wasn't though. Our stone buildings are very few and far between. We've still got a bit of autumn color here right now. My favorite season
ОтветитьBeautiful
