Overwatch 1 vs Overwatch 2 - Orisa changes - Audiovisual Comparison

I actually really missed the OW1 stuff, she was my tank main at the time. Can't deny that OW2 IS SO MUCH BETTER though. I thought I'd hate it because I'm not good with change but she's actually so much more fun to play now.

I'm here to listen to the sound of the supercharger. As a percussionist, I love that they made it look AND SOUND LIKE A DJEMBE! Thats some next level genius sound design. I'm curious if anyone knows what exactly they used for the sound of the super charger

I miss old orisa

I’m gonna be honest right now the old overwatch abilities were way better than the new ones like I would actually mean Orissa if she was back to how she was

I just don't get why they change orisa so much, a problem i heard from overwatch was dumble shield with reinhardt, but you can only take one tank...

They should put a new hero instead of changing her completely

They made Orisa a much more offensive tank, because before she was more about defending the team, and now she’s out for blood

New Orisa is crap compared to the old one. The style of the class is completely changed. The shield and Halt ability were incredibly useful compared to the spear spin ability she has now due to 0 range and the javelin isn’t even close to the halt orb grab.

bastion and orisa have been done dirty with their highlight intros. bastion tank mode. and orisa with her barrier and snare orb

I gotta hand it to the audio team over at blizzard both her ow and ow2 sound effects are amazing

Almost all of her highlight intros have to be changed now because shes basically a different hero. Her power drum on her back is useless, she no longer shoots out a shield and no longer has her gravity snare. Hell they didnt even give her the effort of giving her different spear designs for her various skins while pretty much every other hero has even minor differences like turrets or otherwise

My poor Orisa. She was my favourite hero. Now I won't even play her. Nothing like her old ability set.

They gave her halt ability to Sojourn.
Why did they remove her shield? Sigma still has his?

I feel ow2s orisa is more suitable to OW even I didn't experience the ow1s orisa. it's more cultural(and I belive culture is the most specific feature in ow.) with her spear.

Dialogue aside I like Orisa in Overwatch 2 a lot more, she's more mobile and more ass kicking, like instead of sitting behing a shield her skills make her shut down many abilities of enemies and allow for more agressive plays

They made Orisa a much cooler character to play imo. No more hide behind shield and shoot or damage boost LOS bongo - Now you can throw a spear into tracer's skull and do an AOE pull + burst damage. Much better.

Though, I have questions about why they did this specifically to a character that has African styling and was built by a young african girl....seems...idk. A bit suspicious? Borderline racist? Maybe that's just me reading too far into it, but it leaves me with questions. ESPECIALLY since they've literally made a third "is japanese and a ninja" character. But who am I kidding, it's Blizzard. They love to appeal to the racist 4chan bottom filth that still play the game.

Ranting about the people playing aside, I do think a few characters saw improvements in design, kitting, and feel. The rest are either hard nerfs or design flops. Especially Reaper's new "sleeker" design. Nothing screams "I'm a cop again" more than looking like the punisher logo.

This character looks so cool. The beefiness of the OW2 sounds are great changes.

I think it's awesome that you went and recorded basically everything from OW1 before it was removed.

It's so important for preservation and we're seriously lucky to have someone wonderful like you that did that.
