Im curious on how you choose a workflow for somethings like this or in general. Im fresh to game dev, made the fps from Unreal Sensei's tutorial with shooting targets. Id like to make a first person roguelike (similar to risk of rain 2) but am unsure where to start. Im not even sure on things to look up to progress or what to tackle first.
Timelines also throw me off. With a game in 6 months, what takes up a significant portion of time? Is it something where you could spend an entire day making a single component of the game function?
would be so cool to see a remake of marc ecko getting up! ps2 classic with new features and one big city! would watch the series!
ОтветитьThat low key EA roast was priceless

ОтветитьI created a realistic map, but since my pc is shit for this type of work it crashed. Thank god it auto saved somehow, the file of the map is there but i cant open it no more since it is at a point my cpu cant load it anymore. These are my specs: i3 10105f, 1050 ti, 16 gb 3600 ddr4 ram.
Ответитьthe thing is, I dont like to use ready to use templates in order to progress in game.. I know its dumb, but I like to be able to do the stuff on my own or at least know how the template was developed. But if i do so, i lose motivation too quickly because i dont see enough progress. My ADHD doesnt make things easier too lol
but nice end result! Its better to not always reinvent the wheel and actually use the stuff which is available.
I’m a beginner and, what the fuck am I looking at
Ответитьbro's using vlc to make a timelapse :D

ОтветитьAwesome video. What is a good frame rate for a game? I was thinking around 60. I had a first learninh go on making a simple map and was running at near 200 . Could that burn out graphics card due to running it harder.
