They all fled to South Africa, where will they now flee to now that blacks in south Africa overthrew the racist apartheid system.. I will they flee into the sea or return to Europe.

These white invaders should count themselves lucky. They wouldn't have gotten away with this in staunch Muslim countries. Many of them would have either been beheaded or blown up. They should ask the French what Arabs did to them in Algeria. They had to pull out eventually because the Algerians were striking brutally against French settlers. The remnants who live in southern Africa should stop pushing blacks into a corner because our patience with them is running out. They don't like blacks, then they should leave and return to their homeland of Europe.

The Ndebele tribe remain the traitors in Zimbabwe. They were the tribe that let the whites in and surrendered to them.. So zipra now saw mugabe from the shona tribe a threat. No wonder my maternal grandmother hated the Ndebele, they cannot be trusted, that goes for muzorewa too, she told us about his treachery. So nkomo and muzorewa were siding with evil whites to thwart black liberation. I thank God for Robert mugabe, had it not been for his hard-line stance we would have been the slaves of the whites and the Ndebele tribe.the majority black shona people would have suffered, my grandmother said so. This documentary has proved what she always said.

I was told by an ex eelous scout that Mugabe managed to persuade many voters that voting was to take place over two days, the first day would be for his supporters and the second day for supporters of N'komo. Of course there never was a second day! If true, this might explain the result.

I remember hearing all about this from an old rifleman. Apparently the only instance of mutiny in the British army in modern times. The officers mess refused to go and the sergeants mess backed them up.

What was the point anyhow? Reagan would soon tun on South Africa and white rule as a possibility would become extinct throughout the world. Everywhere that white men prosper and build a safe and flourishing system. there is sure to arrive the others who are not so enterprising or ingenuitive. Then the white men say sure you may work among us, you may prosper as well, but do not steal or rape or murder. And of course these latecomers begin to realize that in numbers they are the leaders and they clamor about democracy (LOL, "democracy," something alien and unheard of to these people before or after they demanded it from their benefactors). And the rest of the world feels pressured to support these communist thugs who then go on the greatest rape and murder spree in history.
And here we are now, some 40 plus years later, and not only is white rule a thing of the past, but even saying "white", with any sense of honor, is a social crime.

Well ZAPU / ZIPRA in hindsight would have been much better off forming an alliance against ZANU considering how many Ndebele and Kalanga were murdered by the 5th Brigade and their North Korean advisers.

I find it funny that all of the "Glad Rhodesia lost!" types in here don't understand that the entire political world could've cared less about racial rights whatsoever. This was all about money and the British interests in it. Britain was suffering monetarily during that time and couldn't pay for the upkeep anymore but wanted to have a handle on some channels of money still so they chose their man Mugabe years before the conflict ended. People so easily forget that governments of that size don't fight for right/wrong anymore, it's pure greed. Which with the fall of Zimbabwe after Mugabe took power, we can see that plainly (as greed always leads to such events).

Also the idea that simply because there wasn't black majority rule, that ANY replacement was worth it simply because "it was bad!" is over simplification as most simpletons choose to do. Because they refuse to actually learn anything about history and all of the complications that go into ANY conflict. The people of all countries are easily swayed and given something simple and digestible for their tiny brains so they can be pushed to take a side the government wants so they have political backing (which leads to monetary backing).

Usual bollocks.....The Rhodesian Forces were 'confined to barracks' ( I know , I was one of them) save for the time when Soames elected to permit them to assist in law and order breakdowns throughout the country. Mugabe won a landslide due to mass intimidation in the rural areas, of course in the end Quartz was shelved and Mugabe took it out on the Matabele people killing tens of thousands in revenge. Of course the country is now a basket case as we all expected. A bit of balance please....

I'm glad Operation Quarts was a failure because I can guarantee that Zimbabwe would be like America in terms of racial tension and racism and South Africa in uneven wealth distribution from different races. Removing the evil gvt of Rhodesia from power was the best thing our Zimbabwean parents have ever done. As a Zimbabwean, I'll forever be grateful. It's possible I wouldn't be making money in Rhodesia like I am in current-day Zimbabwe. However, while that's all good the 2000's land grab was done in a barbaric way, that crumbled our economy badly,,, Still, Mugabe was left with no choice when whites violated the terms of the Lancaster House agreement. They thought they could get away with it and Mugabe was like no hatiite izvozvo pano😂. Also, another reason I would say we love Russians is that they aided in providing armoured vehicles and weapons and the KGB trained our Intelligence and military intelligence on recon and sabotage etc. This is always a complex issue depending on who's telling the history and from which side

Here are my recollections.
I was based at 3Bde in Umtali. The day before the election results a group of us senior NCOs were addressed by our Squadron commander. He read out the Operation Quartz signal applicable to Op Thrasher.
He described it as a contingency against a break down in law and order and that Op Quartz was to protect and evacuate the White population. A similar plan existed within the SADF to accommodate an influx of refugees from Zimbabwe.
At the end of the briefing our commander said this was also how a coup would have been planned.
As a career soldier I was very excited and hoped Op Quartz would be enacted.
In the end all went off very smoothly, and I believe without incident. in the Op Thrasher area.
We were shell-shocked for a day or two but very quickly got into the mindset of integrating the Armies and that introduced another series of interesting adventures.
