Beautiful aircraft series. The comment about the risks of depending on jigs where production might be bombed was new to me. I wish someone would do a more comprehensive video of all the ways the construction was easy to repair.

Yet again Kermit asks questions I'd like to know answers to, and he gets them as he walks around the aircraft! This has been just the type of info I love to hear. Especially about bungee, I didn't know there were different types of bungee, let alone the colours were code for year of making etc. This is the sort of thing you would never get to learn, about unless you were working on an aircraft and asked a more experienced co-worker, why or how type questions, which opens the door to a lot further questions, which iis how I was taught, many many years ago when I was training as an apprentice aged 17 and knew nothing about anything! Thanks Kermie, I really do appreciate your information gathering machine (your brain), for asking what to many would be pointless to them and they would stop listening. NOT ME! that is where I prick up my ears and lean forward to hear more!!!! Thanks, really looking forward to the rest of our guys visit. I learnt more in this video than I have in the past week of general viewing! Best wishes as alwats from England!.

Very very interesting and you’re right such a cool plane. Hope we get to see you fly it. I think the videos are really well put together, I like how you cut to different photos to demonstrate a point for us, must take a lot of extra time and effort to do this. Looking forward to part 2. Thanks.

Great episode, Kermit, and you're right, she's a beauty.

The “ballast items” stuck in the UK . . . I suspect you have requisite connections, if not your own, to the White House, or that general level, because even the ATF has a boss, and when they’re told to approve this item for that person or foundation, it gets done. In your case, I would just request to have approval for the items “as is” - attached the UK description that makes the items “o.k.” at get the exceptional approval.

I would guess the hydraulic system for gun synchronisation, if it leaked, damaged by return fire, could cause the prop to be shot off, which did happen.

I have never seen such a beautiful restoration with so much attention to authenticity, and being properly engineered, not just 'made over' - it is truly amazing and I can't wait for this to be back in the sky! The Bungee explanation was an education in itself......

Love you Kermit! Just to give you perspective, I turn 58 tomorrow June 5. My Grandma is 97 and is still full of piss and vinegar. Charles Lindbergh soloed the Atlantic one year before she was born. Cars still had wooden spokes in 1928. You are dealing in 1930’s airplanes. Isn’t that something?

I lived very near to the Boulton Paul factory from the 50's through to the 70's and was a member of the Air Cadet Squadron based in one of their old buildings on Pendeford airfield. Its all housing now I believe but at the time there was a considerable amount of historic gear lying around.I remember the DH Dove crash that sadly killed the crew and a resident in his home.I believe it was a contributing factor to the eventual closure of the airfield.
