Always ready for another awesome story! Back to work at home after a great time at Sun n Fun.
ОтветитьBeautiful aircraft series. The comment about the risks of depending on jigs where production might be bombed was new to me. I wish someone would do a more comprehensive video of all the ways the construction was easy to repair.
ОтветитьSo, how did you end up with this beautiful airplane?
ОтветитьI think the ATF is a little better than it used to be . Hopefully your representative can help you with the guns . Thanks man .
ОтветитьYet again Kermit asks questions I'd like to know answers to, and he gets them as he walks around the aircraft! This has been just the type of info I love to hear. Especially about bungee, I didn't know there were different types of bungee, let alone the colours were code for year of making etc. This is the sort of thing you would never get to learn, about unless you were working on an aircraft and asked a more experienced co-worker, why or how type questions, which opens the door to a lot further questions, which iis how I was taught, many many years ago when I was training as an apprentice aged 17 and knew nothing about anything! Thanks Kermie, I really do appreciate your information gathering machine (your brain), for asking what to many would be pointless to them and they would stop listening. NOT ME! that is where I prick up my ears and lean forward to hear more!!!! Thanks, really looking forward to the rest of our guys visit. I learnt more in this video than I have in the past week of general viewing! Best wishes as alwats from England!.
ОтветитьJust like an Airfix kit...1:1 scale
Ответить🤠😎
ОтветитьWhat a brilliant design! Wish modern car manufactureres would think about how to work on their cars...
ОтветитьGreat episode Kermit ! Really enjoyed it 👏👏
ОтветитьKermit is getting a first hand education… very wise with this machine.
ОтветитьHawker Demon light bomber i guess
ОтветитьVery cool!
ОтветитьVery very interesting and you’re right such a cool plane. Hope we get to see you fly it. I think the videos are really well put together, I like how you cut to different photos to demonstrate a point for us, must take a lot of extra time and effort to do this. Looking forward to part 2. Thanks.
ОтветитьHawker biplanes are exquisite
They even made The Houses of The Holy
Messerschmitt Bf-108 Taifun update is much needed
ОтветитьBoulton & Paul, was a timber merchant local to me, Norwich, Norfolk, which sadly ceased trading in 1999.
Great episode, Kermit, and you're right, she's a beauty.
No, US personnel did get bombed in WW1 when deployed to Europe. Sorry Kermit.
ОтветитьAnd Lewis guns were mounted on the top wing on SE-5A fighters.
ОтветитьThe “ballast items” stuck in the UK . . . I suspect you have requisite connections, if not your own, to the White House, or that general level, because even the ATF has a boss, and when they’re told to approve this item for that person or foundation, it gets done. In your case, I would just request to have approval for the items “as is” - attached the UK description that makes the items “o.k.” at get the exceptional approval.
ОтветитьI would guess the hydraulic system for gun synchronisation, if it leaked, damaged by return fire, could cause the prop to be shot off, which did happen.
ОтветитьI have never seen such a beautiful restoration with so much attention to authenticity, and being properly engineered, not just 'made over' - it is truly amazing and I can't wait for this to be back in the sky! The Bungee explanation was an education in itself......
ОтветитьShe is gorgeous! Looking forward to seeing her fly again.
ОтветитьHow Very exciting 👍
ОтветитьFantastic... I can't wait for the next episode.
ОтветитьAs a 14yo kid, I was given the privilege of being able to sit in this aero-plane.
Ответитьi just love listening to subject matter experts talk about their expertise subject. so much the better if its a subject im also interested in!
ОтветитьLove you Kermit! Just to give you perspective, I turn 58 tomorrow June 5. My Grandma is 97 and is still full of piss and vinegar. Charles Lindbergh soloed the Atlantic one year before she was born. Cars still had wooden spokes in 1928. You are dealing in 1930’s airplanes. Isn’t that something?
ОтветитьThat is one seriously cool airplane! Cannot wait to see that sexy girl in the air. Hopefully one day the wife and I can get to Florida to check out FoF.
ОтветитьExcellent!
ОтветитьI lived very near to the Boulton Paul factory from the 50's through to the 70's and was a member of the Air Cadet Squadron based in one of their old buildings on Pendeford airfield. Its all housing now I believe but at the time there was a considerable amount of historic gear lying around.I remember the DH Dove crash that sadly killed the crew and a resident in his home.I believe it was a contributing factor to the eventual closure of the airfield.
ОтветитьThank God for enthusiasts like Kermit.
ОтветитьThat was bloody fascinating. God those guys know their business!
ОтветитьThe knowledge transfer going on there was impressive. Those guys know their stuff and are absolutely passionate about it. Brilliant! Can't wait for the next instalment.
Ответитьall iam sayin is brilliant!!
Ответить25;07,,, WOW, Engineers simple and effective , when no back seat passenger
ОтветитьSad it seems that this is another historic aircraft lost to Britain.
Ответить"I never had any luck trying to hit (on) two birds at the same time. Just saying." Hilarious, and honest !
ОтветитьA very good looking biplane - definitely British in appearance and construction. Great addition to the collection.
ОтветитьBest one yet Kermit
Ответитьok one is an expert but the guy next to him knows even more...
ОтветитьHow COOL was that! The most interesting and absorbing video in your library so far, Kermit. Can't wait to see more of the Demon. So refreshing to see and hear the two Brits sharing their skills and experience in everyday language. Yet, just two ordinary, modest blokes who know what they are doing. Thanks for sharing.
Ответить👍
ОтветитьThe first Bf 109 prototype was also driven by a Roll Royce Kestrel - just in case....
