I am a Java Software Engineer and I'd like to add some notices.
Software Engineering is a precise and boring TECHNOLOGY.
Coding it is an exciting ART.
Engineer must prepare a lot of DOCUMENTATION.
Blueprints, specifications, guuides, time-tables, testcases, milestones etc.
For front-end developers, for back-end devs, for DB, for devops, for support, for testers ...
These documents must be prepared in accordance with STANDARTS.
He signs theese documents and from this moment he is responsible for every hour and every dollar a of developing process.
And for every consumed mb and ms of the production one.
He must be able to answer for every note of a PO : it is out of signed specification.

Most of the companies I've worked for don't care about these distinctions. They just want/wanted people who could craft code to solve their problems. They had generic titles like "programmer" and everyone had the same title, same responsibilities.

Thanks Ali for explaining the difference between the roles. I have a question. I am a mechatronics engineer (MECHANICS socially) and I work as an engineering leader. I would like to make a change in my career and I would love to become an iOS app developper. I don't know if this would work in Tunisia or not as a first step and I would like to ask you if I should start following iOS development courses or I start by programming and web development courses like CS50 by HARVARD then HTML CSS JS to get a first job in the field to start the professional journey then dig deep into iOS app development. I am considering two years as maximum for this change. Please share your thoughts regarding this and if you have any advice I would be happy to hear.
