Tracy and Gene, I found your channel a while back from Brook and Jason, but for whatever reason, I hadn't really sat down and watched any of your videos. That'll change now!
Gene, your parents are lovely, lovely people and I'm so glad they are close by. It sounds like they are thrilled to be there too. The home you built for them is beautiful. As a single disabled mom of a 23yo who is on her own now, I could live there very easily! Too bad we can't do something like this in the city where I live. I had a spine/cord injury about 12 years ago and am blessed to have some mobility, but that will decline with time. I have a walker for in the house and a wheelchair for when I go out, which isn't often. The home I am in is the same house I bought us prior to my injury. It's a 4 level split and it's horrendous for someone with my limitations. I have said for years that I need a bungalow/ranch style house. My folks (80 and 84 yo) still live in their house here and they've said that I need to be in a condo/townhouse style home so I don't have to worry about lawn care and shovelling but I need the yard for my dog. He's 12yo now, but the moment he's gone, I'll get another when the right one comes along. I could use a service dog if I could afford one!
Anyways, I tend to blather on and on, so I apologize. I just wanted to touch base and say how much I enjoyed this video and meeting your folks. They are truly lovely people and certainly raised a lovely son who married a great lady!

love that there is still FAMILY VALUES LEFT IN AMERICA . I was raised on a farm and it made for great memories . I took care of my hubbies mom and dad when they had cancer until they passed away . I moved from nJ to Va to do that . gosh i love your land and bee hives . I only have just over 3 acres up on a hillside but hoping i can stay here a little longer but it is hard work and I am a 70 year old woman and hubby has not been abl to help me since 2012 because of his health issues . They must love that front porch . Oh look at the cute puppy . I see the rolling pins . I have the one my great grandfather made . Handicap accesable I did that also with my modular house in 2004 THANK YOU FOR SHARING

That is the sweetest thing to move them close, I just love their cabin, I am crying watching these so happy for y'all.

Your parents are so sweet, God bless them. The cabin looks nice but I have a suggestion to make the living room bigger: what about building an extension to the porch and enclose it, connecting to the inside of the cabin via a door and move the laundry room there? This way you could remove that wall that encloses the laundry room and expand the living room.

Love the bathroom and everything else about it. Surely they are blessed. The price is not too bad. I know it’s expensive. Everything is but people are giving more than $150,000 for just a little 8 x 20 or 26. ridiculous. The people are having to do it nowadays to have something to live in besides the cardboard box or up under a bridge. Blessed we are.❤❤❤❤❤❤

I grew up in Calera, Al and have good friends in Clanton. I apologize if you’re not in Alabama and im just assuming you’re close to where I grew up. There’s some really cute shops and a fantastic sandwich shop there in Clanton! I have really enjoyed seeing what you’ve done with this space!

I appreciate all you and Gene did for your family. My mom passed away 2 years ago and my daddy in March. We were thankful that family lived close. I moved in with my daddy after momma passed. He had Alzheimer’s and needed full time care. Family means everything.
