2023 and I finally have a PS5, and FO76 is my most played game. Much improved and has an incredible community. Crazy times.

The sentence “In Appalachia, everything is hard fought, hard won, and hard spent. There are just no free rides” made me wonder if you were just reviewing Fallout 76 or just actual West Virginia

Never played the game, but the change to chests in 76 is surprisingly one of the things that annoys me most. We've played older FO games and had hotel wall safes that somehow held 400 fragmentation grenades, 17 different types of typically crew-served weaponry, and your 8 favorite suits of power armor; sure, it was silly, but that's how the rules of the game worked. Suddenly changing that to make it "more realistic" while holding the storage capacity that has been the franchise standard since day one behind a paywall? That's just baldfacedly predatory.

Fallout 4 > Fallout 76 > Fallout 3 > Fallout New Vegas. Period.

Remember in Fallout 4 where you could decorate your base with all of the cool stuff you find on your adventures?
I'd find a nice looking lamp or toaster or whatever in a random building and then bring it back to my camp. Now all of that cosmetic shit is in the cash shop.

When wastelanders came out Fallout 76 went free on game pass for a while to try and drum up subscriptions. I played it for a bit. “Oh this isn’t so bad. Oh I gotta be level 10 to progress. Ok I’m level 10! Oh… I gotta be level 25 now… oh it crashed. Oh I got booted from the server.” Uninstalled after two days.

I tried this as it was on GamePass. I think I got to level four before I deleted the game. I'm the kinda person that doesn't like silent characters so that was already a bit of a problem but the world was just so boring. I can't imagine anyone who found this game fun

I am never buying a Bethesda game at launch. The fact they got away with releasing such a shitty game is unbelievable. Whats more unbelievable is that there is no consumer protection for those who pay 50 bucks or so for such a game. If its shit, tough luck give us more money is the motto of these companies.

My biggest problem is them saying you can't have unlimited storage then selling it. Like c'mon 90% of us play FO to become hoarders of weapons, rare items ect.

If I could store unlimited items I would play but this game is an inventory management simulator.

The fact that people tried to defend Bethesda blows my mind. If those same people bought a brand new car that didn't come with all the promised features, that didn't even work and got told it wont be fixed for at least a few years they wouldn't be defending the manufacturer so why the fuck do they do it for game companies?

The minute Bethesda announced a Always Online Live Service Fallout game I KNEW deep in my heart it would be a shit show. Bethesda had literally zero experience with multiplayer games let alone live service games (ESO was a completely different team it doesnt work that way idiot) and the whole idea was SUCH a transparent attempt at capitalizing on the live service craze started by more popular and better put together games like Destiny for a quick cashgrab. Stick to your fucking lane Bethesda, singleplayer games only.

Games like this just make me appreciate games like Ghost of Tsushima even more. Great campaign, open world to explore with fun shit to actually do, amazing combat, no bullshit money grabs. God bless sucker punch.

Improve on 4, the base building, introducing some survival mechanics but with HUGE emphasis on story and characters. If they were going to use same engine it was only option, I'll NEVER understand why they tried multi player. Ridiculous

Maybe in 2022 Fallout 76 will finally be playable.
