hey girly! The Edwardian era actually started immediately after Victoria died- 1901. Just letting you know <3
ОтветитьI was born in 1945 and remember the 'hoop" crinolin/slip. Other then those wearing it as a costume, Ive never seen anyone wear one. I do however remember the "cancan" slip, usually 75 yards of tole, from around the middle to late1950's, loved them!❤❤
ОтветитьFashion is for lemmings.
ОтветитьKeeps the men at bay.
Claims territory,
Cleans the floor
Morticia Addams wore a hobble skirt, but she made it kinda cute.
ОтветитьVERY INTERESTING!! MORE!😅❤😅
ОтветитьOf course the hobble skirt was intended to supress women! But they were attractive.
Ответитьmy step grandma wore this hopy pants outfit and she looked absolutely ho, i think my step grandpa must have whisked her off tho the bedroom to ravish her of day on end. just thinkin sbot this makes me immensely prod
ОтветитьBad, intro. Nothing "ridiculous" about fashion trends. People have a right to be who they want to be during their lives without people like you calling names and ridiculing.
ОтветитьVery informative. I still love it when women wear nylons with the black line going up the back leg.
Cheers 🇨🇦
Ever noticed how bleeding stupid us women are when we wear these stupid designs. Never mind what we wear now a day's designed by bloody gay men, who can't stand women's bodies
ОтветитьFascinating stuff. I'm aware of all of these fads but I loved how you presented this so clearly and concisely. Liked and subscribed! <3
ОтветитьHoop skirt - I love it
ОтветитьHobble skirts - like kimonos, which required a small, mincing step.
ОтветитьThe bridesmaids dresses of the 1980s were hideous
I’m glad my friends got married in front of the Justice of the peace. Or continued to “ live in sin”
The Hobble Skirt! Finally an answer to Cinderella’s mother’s dress!
ОтветитьI've been hunting, but thus far have not been able to locate any genuine references to 1720 English Clothing, from the Gentry on up. Can you help me out.
ОтветитьVery interesting, thanks.

ОтветитьTRUE FACT:... IN SALEM MASSACHUSSETTS...ON ESSEX STREET... THERE IS A WHITE MANSION...I USE TO LIVE ACROSS THE STREET... THE MANSION IS CALLED..."THE ROPE MANSION"... MARYANNE ROPES LIVED THERE IN THE 1700'S...AND HER HOOP SKIRT CAUGHT ON FIRE FROM A FIRE PLACE... AND SHE DIED... IF YOU LOOK AT A PICTURE OF THE MANSION HER BEDROOM WAS ABOVE THE FRONT DOOR... ✌
ОтветитьFashion shows the silliness of vanity.
How did women go potty wearing these silly costumes?
death by fashion ... its a woman thing.
Ответитьre part 3 - those were literally flea and lice collars. there is a video regarding the reason why...
Europe was horribly dirty in the day
Even nuns were not exempt from clothing dangers. One sister got dragged by a bus when her cincture (long rope belt with knots) got caught in the doors as it sped away.
ОтветитьIt is kinda funny how desperate rich people are to show themselves as superiors by wearing clown suits that cost a fortune since they know deep down that they do not have much difference
ОтветитьThe longer the point the longer the other part 😂😂😂😂😂wooow
ОтветитьI think the white piwdered wigs were awful fashion choices. Stiffened with sugar for the more elaborate designs, they also sported live animals and birds in cages. Plus they were subject to catching fire when theur height matched candles in wall sconses. Not to mention how you strained your neck to keep them upright!
Ответитьvery interesting. Now I am going to watch the rest of your videos!
ОтветитьI love the ruffle collar! I'm thrilled to find that they were detachable! I'm going to bring this look back!
ОтветитьIn Denmark the priests in the lutheran church, are still wearing a ruff collar, as part of their uniform. - By the way... how about the modern facion, mostly among young men, to wear their jeans pulled down below their butt. That too, is a facion people will be laughing of later in time, i think. 😁
ОтветитьWhy the ridiculous voice?
ОтветитьHow do you climb stairs in Krakows - go up them backwards? That’s what I’ve heard anyway.
ОтветитьLolololol....nice one Danelle 💗🌸💗
ОтветитьThey can live without air. But they cannot live without blowing on the own false supremacy 🙄
ОтветитьWomen have always suffered for fashion.
ОтветитьWraparound skirts were not the same. There was much freedom because they offered new restriction. Give me a break.
ОтветитьIn some way the today's popular mermaid dresses remind me of those hobble skirts.
ОтветитьHobble skirt shows the insanity of some women catering to fashion and what others think. Excellent video, my dear. 👍🏼
Ответить"Like anything that women enjoy, the hobble skirt was mocked..." Maybe it was mocked just because it was incredibly foolish, no matter who enjoyed it? Why put it down to sexism? Maybe women who wore them were worthy of mockery because of their foolishness. See padded trunks for men, padded codpieces....certainly foolishness is shared by both sexes.
ОтветитьBell bottom jeans
ОтветитьGot to love the 80’s hair 😂
ОтветитьI can't help it, I love crakows!
ОтветитьColoured ruffs, what a fun statement
ОтветитьI really enjoy watching your videos. I love learning about history and I want to be a a fashion historian myself.😊
Ответить"The humble mullet"
Ответить'like anything that women enjoy, the hobble skirt was mocked relentlessly by men" 💀🙏
ОтветитьLook up Mexican pointy boots lol
ОтветитьSeeing that awful hobble skirt I see why the trend to go flapper was so popular.
