Thank you so much for such nice information and in such a transparent and kind way 🙏
Thanks for the explanation. So both accounts are automatically EU accounts? Meaning if you live outside the EU/US/UK and you want to send money to your Revolut/Wise account, international bank transfer fees may apply, right?
I have banks in uk and USA, can I use revolut to transfer money between them?
You also have Pockets in Revolut, that is for subscriptions that will be paid from that :D that is what i find awesome from Revolut, so what you have on your bank account that is what you can spend, also you can put up recurring payments to your pockets so you wont be out of money on your subscription pockets.
Thanks for the video. It was very helpful.
This video is really nice and u explain very well.. thanks for sharing ur review..
Wise permanently changed they’re App and it gets more and more worse and the possible features are limited.
So you can not transfer money out of you’re account to another account I.e. in Colombia and the customer support is practically not existing anymore. I was using WISE for years but can not recommend it anymore.
Thanks for your helpful video! I was a little worried after hearing that there were some charges on balances. After some investigation, it seems that the fees on Wise vary a lot depending on what country you're in. In my country for example, all the fees have been dropped this year. Also, I started with Revolut and found that the experience can be vastly different to others depending on your country of citizenship. In my case, I received a Revolut account in my home country and it had vastly different capabilities (much less) than a friend of mine from Germany. I suggest doing an investigation based on your own country of citizenship.
Very useful video. I have been using both for more than a year.
I can't figure out which Germanic language you speak as your mother tongue: Swiss or Norwegian. Ah, now I got the fact: Austria. You speak softer than German but not as lilting as Swiss-German. So, now I learned something linguistic as well as financial. Thank you.
I too am interested in both of these cards - Revolut I had some problems with and Wise has poor customer service. I will keep my bank in Canada, but use these for what they ere really designed for - cash in foreign currencies while travelling or doing business overseas, not so much for purchases.
BTW, I can recall a time not that long ago (25 years?) when we got a better rate at the bank counter than the ATM when outside of my home country. Now, it seems there is no difference.
BTW, great dentist!
My husband and me have both a wise account and are happy with the speed of exchanging money and paying bills or services with in no time. Revolut sounds also interesting.
Ответитьgreat info to know ty!
Hi Maggi ! I have a question about Revolut, is it safe enough to put some money to it monthly ? Like about 300€, as I’m a foreign student in France, my bank did not give me access to my main account nor gave me a debit card to buy groceries. So my dad wants to send me some money through Revolut and we’re both wary of money’s safety.
Hope you reply 🙏🏼
Sadly, my choice is easy... Revolut didn't exist in Canada so Wise this will be.
Can we pay with a "virtual card" with wise?
Thank you very much for the video, if I send payment link via wise to other people, will they be able to use the link by paying with a credit card like Visa/MasterCard?
Interested to hear your view about carrying cash.
Last month we travelled to Europe and UK, and was very surprised that cash is still often asked for, and on some occasions the only form of payment. We had to scurry to an ATM for cash, and of course got the high fees and exchange rate. It was very surprising, especially in Amsterdam and Berlin.
Many thanks.
Ответитьdo they provide a german iban(DE) or is it english and belgium ?
ОтветитьHatte die Wise Debit Card jetzt in Schweden benutzt.
As of the end of August, Revolut in the USA appears to be adding fees for debit and credit card transfers, ranging from 1-3% Achtung! 😮
I made the Vault in my revolut app. It says NOK (since im norwegian and have some nok in revolut). But I also have euro in Revolut and I wanted the Vault to be in euro. Or is it irrelevant what the vault says the money/currency is in ?
Ответитьreally useful information, thank you so much!!!
Poderia me indicar um cartão?
Hands down the best review/comparison of these two great services!
I use both, but only have a Revolut card, and I'm generally more inclined to Revolut because of the wider range of services.
Still, a big fan of Wise too. 🙂
Nice video
Regards
Thank you, very clear and helpful.
Trasfer money for both is like a making a payment with another credit card? Or as bank transaction? Asking because my bank tx fees are very high and it can also take long time to get approval.
Also, I'm thinking of the best way to manage both cards-
Split my budget between them, and transfer once a month? Once a week? Or spontaneously whenever i need?
And having only virtual cards can be an issue?
Wise has 3 disposable virtual cards, while revoult has only one. Virtual cards from Wise can be used everywhere but from revoult, it does not work on few e-commerce portal in Germany.
I am an older (70+) traveler & not quite sure I understand the difference between using the cards you are reviewing and my regular credit cards. My credit cards have no international transaction fee's for purchases and no fee's for accessing cash at a bank or certain ATM's .I do carry cash, which I replenish as needed. I auto-pay my credit cards statements in full each month, so I never have any interest fee's for that either.
Also, when I use my credit cards for purchases, I have certain protections/warranties, that I otherwise would not have if I was purchasing with cash.
So, if all I am doing is transferring money from my bank checking account into one of the cards you are speaking of, what is the advantage of them? I'm not quite understanding the concept. Are you saying that when using my 'bank ie Chase Credit card, they don't give me the best currency exchange rate when purchasing?
Today's exchange rate for a purchase might be different, more or less, than it would have bent first exchange the money that would be put on the cards you are mentioning.
As you can probably tell, I am even confused trying to figure out how to ask how it would be different from just using my bank credit card for purchases & or using cash that I have withdrawn from my bank checking account via the ATM.
Hope you can clarify a little on that.
Thanks & I love all your video's. Getting ready to do 6 months in the EU with a 40L backpack. I am excited & nervous at the same time.
😊
Hello folks, have any of you used this card in Colombia?
Thank you very much Maggi. I'm from Italy but I'm going to Brazil this summers and I have a Revolut free account as you do but I can't find what commission would I pay when using it to buy stuff in Brazil. Is there any commission at all that Revolut withholds?
Shall we buy lottery ticket with wise card
Maggi, just to let you know that I love your videos, lifestyle and of all, your smile 😊
Vielen Dank für die guten Tipps.
Hi, many thanks for the information. Which card is best for worldwide travelling? As I don’t like keeping too much cash on me so its easy for me to do shopping, pay hotel, etc. I never use any car apart from UK card but my bank charge me a lot
I plan to use wise for hotel booking, UBER, restaurants and travel using just one card back it up by my Pakistani credit cards. Should be enough in terms of cost effectiveness or should also keep revolut? I plan to use these in UK EU and US
Hi Maggi, all these multi-currency apps are quite mind boggling to someone like me who was not born in the digital age. I just need a clarification. Say, I change 100 of my home currency to yen for a trip. At end of the trip, I somehow am left with 20 yen. I suppose I can then change the 20 yen back to my home currency, right? The reason I ask is that I know of another app that doesn't allow the withdrawal of the balance back to my home or to another currency. Thank you very much in advance.
Ответитьcan you open any of these without having any bank account?
Thanks for the video mam.
What time does early pay reach your bank with revolut
Hi Maggi, is it possible to load the Wise card with Brazilian money to use it there?
As I will be traveling to Brazil this year and I saw in another video of you that you have been there before, I'm wondering if I can use Wise in Brazil.
Is the revolut trading options is legit? Mam?
Hello Maggie, I use the Wuse card for 2 years now. First: it's very easy to.put money on the Wuse account: either via Sepa transfer from your employer, or from your private bank account, it takes about 24 hours. From the Wise card of my son it takes seconds. You can easily split money between 2 Wise cards and it costs nothing. Paying bills with the Wise card costs nothing in Euro snd o ly a small amount in foreign currency. I think k you should correct this. Kind Regards, Gaby.
This is really helpful! Thank you!
Thanks for the nice comparison. A quick question, withdrawing money from ATM using Revolut card on weekend wouldn't cost anything if that currency is already in your account ? For example one can exchange Euros to Dollars on Friday and withdraw on Sunday, it should be free or ?
My WISE card DID NOT WORK when I most needed it.
After being in transit for more than 24hr, I arrived to pick-up a rental car, but WISE declined the payment. I called support but no one answered as it was out of their working hours. My purchase was within the card limit and I had 10x more funds than what was necessary.
hey there! very well done and informative video, I just have one question to be 100% sure before i commit: I'm from france and i frequently travel to the US, will the payments I make directly with the revolut card be completely free? And can someone tell me if the US accept the revolut card widely?
What do you recommend when Wise blocks your account? Any experience with this ?
First time I saw such honest review from any person, it shows your honesty too. Great, keep it up 🙂
With revolut
