I think we will see even more projects evolve between Vietnam and China. For Vietnam to grow economically and industrially, it needs better infrastructure, energy, and transportation. Who better than China, to help facilitate these sectors of growth.

ОтветитьInstead Vietnam could plan a semi high speed railway . HochiMinh to Da Nang within 10 hours. Da nang to Hanoi 10 hours. Otherwise it may affect the domestic airlines for sure.

What ever that we lossed in lands, islands, money in properties that they had took it place in Vietnamese country. They have to return it back to Cambodia as I am the man with demands.

From being behind in its HSR technology vis-à-vis Japan, to exceeding it, whilst keep maintaining its competitive prices.
The completion of HSR is Indonesia, started in 2016, is a testament to that.
Whereas the HSR project in Endia and Japan, is a testament of Japanese technical failure and total Endian incompetence.
Well, the Endian incompetence is totally expected and well known.. but the Japanese technical failure is rather shocking.
If China can surpass Japan in HSR technology in a mere 10 years (starting from the bottom), one can only guess how
China will surpass Japan in many other areas.
With this background, it is very wise for Vietnam to throw the Japanese's proposal out and go with China.

ОтветитьI really don't think it's a good idea for China to take over this HSR project in Vietnam for the following reasons:
1- Vietnam is well know for its dishonest business practice and their penny pinching mentality. For EVERY infrastructure project in VN, the corrupted officials have looked for sizable sum of kickback money, along with inflated land values which increase the cost of the project. They then blame the contractors for the project over budget cost and delays. They then make up these unjustified excuses to postpone the payments to the contractors. China should STAY AWAY from VN infrastructure investment and not touch it with ten-foot long pole.
2- Vietnam does NOT have money to fund this project of $65 billion initially - might end up with over $100 billion over time for the above reason - therefore, they MUST look for loans and financial support from the potential contractors. This huge amount of money can be available only from China - the country with richest foreign reserves and the advanced, competitive HSR technology.
But the fact that VN wasted 18 years negotiating with and waiting for Japan financial and technical support to no avail shows that VN is NOT sincere and NOT wanting to cooperate with China.
3- VN has HUGE deficit of trust with China due to the territorial dispute with China over South China Sea. When the big business project lacks trust and faith in partnership, the project DEFINITELY WILL run into risk of conflict during the time of construction, even on minor issues not due to the contractor's fault, as the Hanoi Metro line Catlinh-Hadong project that China built for VN has shown - which by the way currently operates smoothly, efficiently and becomes an iconic symbol of modern VN!
As a time-proven honest, hi-tech, competitive, and efficient builder of world-class HSR system, China would be better off invest in other 193 countries in the world where China companies and engineers are highly respected and desired, with high earning potential and less unnecessary headaches!
China, let VN be on its own for your own good!
